I just finished this book and had a question about it. At the end of the book when it said that Zahariel knew the source of Caliban's taint and its name, was he referring to Luther or the actual daemon?

I believe it is the actual Daemon. Because I think earlier in the book Z actually gets a good look/listen to the daemon. And states that he "knows him". But I could be mistaken. its been a bit since I read the book.

Yes it is very strange that Jonson, who is supposed to be very gifted at calculation and strategy, can be so easily deceived.
