Prices are in US dollars below the UK pounds. Also They tell you what the shipping is at the bottom of the page.

They said that to the USA, it is about 12 British Pounds. So I used Googles currency converter.

You realize that those are estimates right? And that they can and most likely will change by the time the project actually ends. And by the time shipping is charged.

How do you figure, that is a pledge level.. those are not going to change. The Estimate is within a dollar of the actual amount that google currency converter projects. You said they dont have the prices in Us dollars.. I just showed how they do, and proved they do in fact have the shipping cost listed on the KS Page. Now If you mean because of the exchange rate between now and the shipping date? Well considering in 22 days it closes and we are billed then.. I am not concerned unless there is a major event that kills the US dollar, and then you can always drop out. But hey no worries, its not for you... over 600 people at current reporting are fine with it, including me.

I guess I am just not sure what you mean by those are estimates. KS has pretty strict rules on how these things are run... so I am a bit confused, maybe you can further elaborate?

Yes, I mean the conversion is an estimate. And the 12 pounds for shipping? They said "around 12 pounds". That doesn't mean that's what it'll be. I'm sure the more your get/order the more it'll be also. Like I said, I personally don't mess with project's that aren't in USD, and that charge shipping after the fact.

Yeah I get it, and I understand how that can be worrisome. But I am sucked in, and devoted to it now. I respect your choice and reasons for not doing it, me I think it is worth taking a chance on. Hey thanks for a great and respectable debate and conversation.

actually it's about the same info as the last 2 CMON kickstarters (arcadia quest, xenoshift). Both list the shipping as TBD.

Around 2012 or 2013 the Postal services hiked the prices so up, that all projects lost / loose (those that are still to deliver) money on that.
For example RelicKnights. They asked $15 in shipping. Amazon+KS took a % of that, leaving less. There is NO way that delivering 6 starters + boosters + book + whatnot is within $15 in postage.

So if you don't trust the KS because they can't tell exact shipping, then you'll probably won't back any ever again. As it looks like slowly all of them adapt to this model: shipping not included and can vary depending on when they ship.
With AQ with the pledge manager done I haven't payed for shipping yet (no field for shipping), so I fully expect an invoice when it's ready to ship with the exact shipping price to pay.

As for the exchange rates: It's unfortunate and affects all KS-s that are UK based (in pound), like the AliensPredator, that I back. The bad part that it'll differ by the time you pay (can change around 3$/100 pledged), the good: it changes according to the exchange rate about 20-27 days from now. Exchange changes constantly, but they are not *that* volatile.

-------------

sadly for several reasons I can't back this KS even though the minis look great and I'd really like to get a few of them.

Having backed scale games last year with dual fighters, I'm pretty keen on FF and backed it on opening day. I think they will do an awesome job, having learnt a few things from DF they are much better organised this time round. For me postage hurts from any where living NZ, no complaint though it's just life.

FF has reached its funding goal and it's first free mini. Looks pretty cool to me.

They have announced they are going with HIPS plastic. The same stuff in WWX plastic miniatures! outstanding news!

What is WWX? What is HIPS plastic comparable to? I've never heard of it. Is it another name for ABS/styrene?

WWX = World War Exodus

HIPS = High Impact Plastic ... something. Basically similar to Wyrd's, GW's or KD's plastic.

A rather good news btw.

Sorry, but:

WWX = Wild West Exodus
HIPS = High Impact PolyStyrene

HIPS is what Outlaw used for their Wild West Exodus plastic models (some models in the range are resin), and is what Games Workshop and Mantic (and model car, airplane, and tanks, usually) are made of as well.

What they Said. ;) Well rather what Valander Said. MAXXXXxxxxxxxxx You were close though!

Make sure to check out that Kick starter they have done a lot of work on it, and added more goals, even one that was reached today at 93.5K funding. So if you have not yet backed, now would be a great time!

I was unaware they were a Spanish company... I thought they were from the UK. I've heard bad things about the rules translation from a friend who is backing.
