famous (ex)residents of your town

Liberace grew up in the town I am originally from, West Allis , Wisconsin. My aunts used to cry when he would get beat up coming home from school in his sequined knee-breeches and rollerskates. Charleton Heston and Liz Phair went to the high school I graduated from in Winnetka, IL. Then again, Donald Rumsfeld is from Winnetka, too:|~ Harrison Ford went to the college I graduated from, I mean from which I graduated. I lived in Chicago for several years and actually met Scottie Pippin when the Bulls were a good basketball team. Now I live in Kenosha, Wisconsin just blocks away from George Pollard\'s art gallery, he\'s an internationally renowned artist who has painted portraits of various popes and other important personages.

One day you will all know me when I become famous, most likely through Reuter\'s Odd News service:D

Actually the FBI/Branch Davidian BBQ was in Elm Mott - about 10 miles from Waco, but the press being what they are they used Waco as a reference point - they did the same thing when Bush bought his Crawford ranch.

And if we wish to talk about famous folks who attended our alma maters - Lyndon Johnson, Powers Booth, George Strait, and Heloise are all graduates of SWTSU -

When I lived in Rawlins, Wyoming (Armpit of the world), the big claim to fame was that the other guy from Chips, not Ponch, but... Anyway, whoever he was, he was from Rawlins. (Yawn!)

When I worked in Chinle, Arizona, the Indian activist-turned actor, Russell Means (Last of Mohicans, Natural Born Killers, famous Warhol painting), was married to a local woman (very sweet lady). Of course Means\' activism these days seems to consist of punching his elderly father-in-law in the face and then challenging tribal jurisdiction to prosecute him over the incident.

Come to think of it, neither one of these amounts to much...
