Father Jack Hacket

Does anyone have a suggestion on the base for a conversion of Father Jack Hackett?

I\'m thinking there are probably some good bits in the new bretonian boxes.. but I\'m curious what people have to say.

I\'d love to make him a general for various armies.

What a splendid idea!!!

I take it you mean the character from Father Ted? In fact, minis of Ted, Dougal and Jack would be a great idea. I wonder if Steve Buddle is paying attention?

Sorry, can\'t help you with your question however:duh:
(Typical, another thoroughly lame contribution)

Actually, one of the \'Jolly Monks\' I sculpted for Foundry was inspired by Father Jack. It\'s the one holding a beer barrel.

I seem to remember I even added a Father-Jack-esque slogan to the bottom of his base

Straight from the man himself...

You can\'t ask for any more than that!

And here is the range in question:

My favorite lines from Father Ted. (misquoted)

Person: \"It was a very special whistle. It belonged to my great-grandad. He had it with him when the English tried to execute him. They hit the whistle and all bounced off!\"

Father Ted: \"Oh, so he survived?\"

Person: \"No, they just reloaded and shot him again. Anyway, finding my whistle stolen has put me in such a state that I lost all feeling in my right leg.\" <Grab\'s policeman\'s club and smacks his right leg> \"AAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!\"

Policeman: \"Unfortunately the shock has also effected his memory, it\'s his left leg that has no feeling\" <grabs club, smacks left leg, no response>

Anway, sorry for the offtopic, I just wanted to share.

Well, it\'s like this....

Father Ted was a UK sitcom, that became cult viewing. Father Ted, Father Dougal McGuire and Father Jack Hackett were all Catholic priests that lived in a run-down house on a God-forsaken place called Craggy Island with their housekeeper, Mrs Doyle.

You can\'t really explain the humour...

Sad - we get all the half way decent US comedy (and a lot of the crap) and you dont even know who Father Ted is (was).lol

Oh! Go on!

Oh! Go on!

I know! I feel cheated! I mean, there are only two reasons I ever watch PBS - \"Austin City Limits\" and all the comedies they\'ve cobbed from the BBC :D

Oh, I suppose there are some other things, but they only put them on during their pledge drives, which means they\'re unwatchable - 10 minutes of show followed by 20 miunutes of dunning for money. \"And for every pledge of $250 or more, we\'ll send you this handsome pencil - only been chewed on once or twice - with the station logo on it!\"

I vowed that if I ever won the Lotto, I\'d wait for some show I really wanted to see to come on, call them up and tell them I\'d fulfill their goal for the whole night if they\'d just shut the hell up and let me watch!

Oh, um... ahem... uh... I seem to have slid a tad too close to the deep end. Sorry :innocent:

Okay folks ! Move along now. Nothing more to see here.

It is/was on BBC america, and it\'s definately available on DVD (I have the complete set, it\'s really worth the money if you enjoy it)

I find most people either love ted or they hate it.

I\'m excited about \'allo \'allo comming out on DVD.

Did I just hijack my own thread?

If you don\'t like it, I\'ll buy it from you. I quite like Father Ted, but I don\'t have any of his DVDs, so I am sure we could work something out:D
There you go..You can\'t go wrong:bouncy:
