I just thought of something: how many out thee know what Capoeria is (Before I told some of you, that is..) And how many of you play fighting games.. I bet you it\'ll be at least 70% of the same people! I can\'t beilive that nobody knows about it.. how do you think I get my Harlequins posed so well? :D

I\'ve actually taken a capoeira class or two (not by my own volition) and I enjoyed it somewhat....

I\'m definitely not the fighting game type of guy, though.

I just thought of that because I just got the PS2 version of Street Fighter with my favorite character, Elena and that\'s what she uses..

As I play, though.. I find myself obsessed by her cro*ch...

(That\'s croUch.. dirty minded people!) :p

Yeah... If that\'s non-existant hand-eye coordination I\'d probably shit my pants if I saw one with it...

It\'s actually changed drastically for me over the years, I used to be into fighting games, Tekken 3 was the best, I was doing tournaments the whole thing. Then there were the dark years of EQ, where it became pretty much my only hobby, much of my social life, a good side job, etc...

Now it\'s real time strategy multiplayer with friends exclusively, add a little bit of the social into the computer gaming, nothing like a bunch of friends on a LAN with some pizza all beating on one another at starcraft or dawn of war for a night. That\'s all the computer games I do now.\\

As for hand eye coordination, video games seem to actually be very good at developing it in kids, will be interesting to see if that manifests itself in artwork in the coming years in terms of artwork...

Definitely turn-based strategy
Civ1-2-3, XCom, Jagged alliance, classic wargames, ...
Also a bit of adventure (Longest Journey, Kings quests - the old ones, ...)
And some role-playing (can\'t beat Wizardry on the old Apple 2 ...)

Hi,

I\'ve chosen RTS games as I like games like commando\'s (ok, not totally RTS), mechcommander, ground control, combat zone, battlefield earth, etc.
I also like puzzle games like Riven, Exile, Myst and Syberia. They are RPG\'s but of a different character than the ones listed in the choices.

And I also know what Capoeira is. :)

I tend to go for RPG and RTS.

Favourites at the moment are Icewind Dale and Baldurs Gate type stuff for the RPG\'s

Age of Empires, C &C, that sort of thing. I played stronghold but as mentioned the AI is very week and after a short time it becmae repetative.

I\'ve been networking Dawn of War a lot in work, just wait till the workshop is empty in the evenings at sea and 4 of us get together to get our butts kicked by the computer:D

voted other: turn based strategy :)

Games like Heroes of Might And Magic (PC) and the Gameboy Advance games Advance Wars and Fire Emblem were very enjoyable.

I also spent a lot of time playing games like Baldur\'s Gate, Neverwinter Nights. My all-time favorite is Planescape:Torment. Fantastic story!

For the moment I play World of Warcraft exclusively :)

RTS all the way. I enjoy FPS\'s too. Pretty much anything player versus player with fighting and killin or excessive thought process like chess/poker/risk. I.E. any PVP but no sports games, I hate sports games. Need an \"anything PVP\" choice :(

OMG finally someone mentions AOE! How can anyone mention RTS games and not put that series at the top of the list? I mean mythology kinda took a nose dive but cummon, everything before it was top of the line. I enjoyed Stronghold too, little too slow for me though. Although upping the play speed helped I found regardless the economy a bit tedious. I guess my main problem is it seemed to favour the defensive player. I think I was just annoyed with Stronghold because it\'s the only RTS that I didnt totally wipe the floor with all my friends and everyone they brought in to beat me. The nerve of that game! Cant wait for SH 2 though, yeah! C&C and Warcraft/Starcraft were also good but out of balance. WC3 was fairly good though. Much closer to balance I mean.

*forgets to inhale and feints...lol

I talked about AOE on the first page (about 1/5 of the way down, 8th post)

Bloody PC gamers going on about frame rates and the latest graphics cards - YAWN!

I play my games on consoles because:
My consoles don\'t need upgrading every six months.
They very rarely crash or lock up.
I can play on a decent sized screen (even a BIG monitor is tiny compared to a decent TV).....
...with PROPER digital surround sound, not a couple of Mickey Mouse plastic boxes that sound like a chimp farting.
They are designed for for social interaction - you can play people in the same room!
I like arcade games... :)

Pro Evolution Soccer is my all-time favourite game. Halo 2, Gran Turismo, Project Gotham 2, TOCA Race Driver 2, Grand Theft Auto, Tekken and..... WORMS!

Donga was part of the Worms league we had going. My team were called \'The Fascists\'. I seem to remember having worms named Hitler, Pol Pot, Il Duce and Thatch. Hitler used to get the shit kicked out of him constantly!

And that\'s about it in my experience. They\'re like electronic heroin. All most kids (lads mostly) seem to want to do is to play video games. At home on consoles, in the street on their phones and in school on network machines.

I know what it\'s like, having been accused more than once of being addicted myself in the past. There is a noticeable lack of attention span in kids and literacy rates are suffering because reading is not something that kids really do anymore.

Obviously video games aren\'t the only culprit, but they are certainly a contributing factor. If I ever have the misfortune to spawn a brat, it\'s video-smack intake will be carefully monitored.

\"Get outside and play football!\"

\"But dad!!\"

\"Shut it and do some exercise lard-arse!\"

Hehe, nope...complete replacement however is quite frequent. Although it\'s calmed down the last couple years. I think PC\'s are starting to calm down with their upgrades too though.

PC\'s are shite.

An unfortunate evil that is all too necessary. It\'s about time someone came up with something a little more user friendly.

Nah they\'re brill in all their beige and blue screening glory.....ok it keeps me in a job. Besides your PC gaming addict is similar in many respects to a car modder...too much is never enough.

Anyhow my favourite games:

RPG: Diablo 2 and LoD, Deus Ex
Shooter: Punisher
