Favorite Miniatures?

I\'m pretty new to CMON so forgive me if I\'m reinventing the wheel with threads like \"pics of workspace\", \"mini money pit\", and now this one: What are your favorite miniatures?

Some simple, but flexible, guidelines:

[*]Try to keep it to five or less; if you have to include more, have an \"Honorable Mentions\" list.
[*]Feel free to either list your all-time favorites or current favorites or both.
[*]Alternately, list your favorite single miniature from different companies.
[*]I\'m interested in favorite figures not favorite paint-jobs (so this wouldn\'t correspond with your Favorites gallery).

I was going to ask for links but this is my second try at writing this--I lost the first with links to the internet ethers and I don\'t want to go through linking five miniatures again.

Also, I know this is virtually impossible to narrow it down but don\'t try so hard! This isn\'t meant to be definitive, but merely a way for us all to see what others like and even more so, perhaps learn about some great miniatures we didn\'t know about.

Some favorites of mine:
[*]Baron Valdenar from the Royal Guard of Doriman box set (Rackham).
[*]Kain the Scourge and the Black Paladins as a whole (Rackham).
[*]Eschelius the Ardent (Rackham, ahem).
[*]Orc Clan Shaman from Orc-Clan Trackers (guess who?)...the guy with that weird leather wing contraption. I could have picked any number of Rackham orcs, but this might be my favorite of them all.
[*]Ithandir 54mm (Andrea) -- I don\'t even own this figure (yet), but I had to mention something other than Confrontation and this is just beautifully elegant.


Honorable Mentions: Tons of Rackham Confrontation figures worth mentioning -- Grakkha, Shaka Morkhai, the Jackal Trackers and Orc Clan Trackers, Galhyan and Nelphaell of the Cynwall Elves, the Dragon Titan of Aarklash, the Drune Minotaur, Sygma the Ophidian wizard, the Dirz Vicar, Dasyatis Clones and the Centurus Clones 1, the sword-wielding Moloch, Tanath, Archonite of the Faathi, Bard of Alahan 1, etc...

No offense Dragonsreach, but I get really tired of this reaction: Every internet board I\'ve ever been on has \"long-timers\" who say this to every new poster every time they post something that has been posted before...which is just about any post. I mean, almost everything has been said before, right? So why not say it again? Or in a new way? Certain posts come around again and I see nothing wrong with that. Not to mention, do you expect everyone to do a search every time before they post just to make sure no one has posted it within the last year?

By the way, I just did searches for \"favorite miniatures\", \"favorite minis\", and \"favorite\" and didn\'t find anything, at least not within the last year or so and not quite as specific (there are some general conversations about favorite type of minis).

Hopefully we\'ll get more responses...

Other minis I like: every other mini you can possibly think of which I could not mention because I am limited to 5.

LOL, don\'t mind those of us who remember when hard drive space cost $50 a megabyte...

I\'d say that technical questions etc. would benefit from a preliminary forum search, but community-building or social threads like this work better when a new thread is started rather than dredging up an old thread full of long-gone members, with twenty pages of posts to wade through.

Anyway, at the rate new products are released, any \"favorites\" thread from more than six months ago would be very outdated

Those are really the ones I am quite attached to. Sure there are some I like more than others but nothing else really stands out.

I\'m spending too long deciding on five so I\'ll just say Airtis by Enigma, who is my favourite by far at present, and I dearly want to paint him one day..when I can do him justice. =)

I am a real big fan of the Mun Gun Low mini from enigma. I liked it so much I named my lizard after it. I am going to paint it as soon as I actually have time to paint.

This type of question will get very different answers depending on when I\'ll answer it, as my preferences change constantly.

At this moment, I\'d say my top 5 favourite minis are:

• Airtis (Barbarian version) - Enigma Miniatures
• Avalonian Recruit bust - Kraken/Artefactory
• Ghoul bust - JMD Miniatures (although I would place most of Romain\'s busts equally high)
• Artemis (40 mm version) - Hasslefree Miniatures
• Virago - Ilyad

Of course, I could list plenty of other great miniatures from my favourite sculptors Kev White, Raul Latorre, Romain van der Bogaert, Jaqcues-Alexandre Gillois, Edgar Skomorowski, Allan Carrasco etc. etc.
