Favourite word revivial

I was stuck last time this came up and put forward the word \'aye\' as the only word I could claim to be a favourite, using it frequently as I do. However, I have now got myself another word:

My grandfather uses this superbly well, filling in blanks where his 90yr old memory fails him. For example (talking about the steelworks in his younger days):

\"I was firsthand melter, and the secondhand melter was Jeff...Jeff.........Jeff.............................Jeff Doings.\"

Another might be, quite simply:

\"Jul, er Col, er Phil! Pass me the doings!\" (He never calls me doings, preferring to scroll through my father\'s name, my uncle\'s name and my cousin\'s too before he gets to mine. We have about 4 Colins floating around the family)

Throw in a broad Yorkshire accent, and we have possibly the most versatile and comic word in the language.

Fave word...lets see I\'d have to say a variation of ; \"indeed\"

Varied in the fact its drawn out Ie \"Indeeeeed\".
I use it a lot, usually when people irritate me or I jst can\'t be arsed listening.[

1 Niggardly - not used often by anybody so people don\'t really know what it means - they just know what they think they heard

2 Thing - I don\'t remember which culture, but if the couldn\'t remember a word it was thing. Noun, verb, didn\'t matter. My mother was asked to \"thing up the window\"

A politician got into some very hot water recently for using that word....The word means \'miserly\'...

Aye, I can relate to \'Doings\'. My Dad uses it a lot. He\'s (as I am) West Riding of Yorkshire. He also uses \"Good Night\" a lot - not as in a term of farewell but as a mild expletive, ie \"Goodnight! What did you flamin\' do that for you daft a\'porth!\" etc

I\'ve just finished a book about West Yorkshire dialect and have made it my mission to re-intoriduce a lot of it into my everyday vernacular. Be warned!

and my most hated one:

Low-Hanging Fruit
(I usually respond to this one by saying that low-hanging fruit got the whole human race in trouble. Or if you pick the low fruit it might be dingle-berries.)

After I spent almost 3 years with the USMC and the US Army you can prolly figure out what my favorite \"non safe\" word is.
