Hiya, I have finally got round to getting some semi- decent shots of my Ghazgull mini. This was my firstest ever venture into the wonderful world of Golden Demon and made it through to the final round despite being a \'token\' entry (as in get in quicker than queing with the gamers).

This is the model that made me want to paint for display and competition rather than just paint and I likes it!!

Some of the metallics look a bit rushed, and the banners are both the same shape, you could of cut one up a little bit so it was a little bit different, but other than that its an excellent mini, the skin tones are great!

Margaret thatcher -> Mag Uruk Thrakka

I laughed so hard when I found that out.

As for this mini I particulary love the checkers, they are soft and neat, verry pleasing to the eye. good work.

Quite nice really, would like to see a little more highlighting espically on the reds and blue. But indeed it is a good job.

It\'s a bit of a peeve of mine though posting the same mini multiple times. Should just combine the photos into one voty entry.

I agree. The checkered marks are very smooth and clean. But is the pole the grot holding a really really long pipe gun? I looks like the bottom is the stock...how about some pictures of the back?

Niiiiiiiiiceeeeeeee! The scheme is very limited and makes the mini look amazing. I see often people make the mistake of trying to put too much of a variety of colors and ending in a disaster. You got it right, Orks4Dave! :drunk:

It\'s all really good solid work, as matty already said the metals need a little more attention, some rust, or weathering would be nice, I\'d have to put it at 7.5 as it\'s good but nothing out of the ordinary.
Man these are hard times....

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. The metals are just drybrushed, as are the horns and even the grot (bad dave!), and there is only one level of highlighting on the res and blue. (this was painted up in 2005 before I discovered CMON, so many techniques you guys taught me were alien!)

I did a bit of extra detail on some of the metallics, like the oil on the claw pistons and scratches on the claw but kinda forgot (or got lazy for the gun arm.)

The banner pole is a support from the rebel grot cutta and a plastic goblin champion sword arm jiggerypoked and pinned. I never glued or Gs\'d this for ease of transport. However, It has been commented many a time by opponents that this must be one strong grot to lug that around one handed! But I just had to include a grot banna wava, Ghazgull without Makari is like fish without chips!!!

I am unable to include multiple votey pictures as I have no cheating, I mean photo editing software! lol, just a makro setting digital camera and point and shoot, so sorry about the multiple (two...) posts in my gallery. Just I was keen to show some close ups and a full length showing composition.

Thanks again for the feedback, keep it comin\'!!! glad people are liking him .:D

ghazkull, is by far an enormous paintjob to do, so well done for doing it(i recently finished mine too).
congrats on getting to the finals aswell. personally i do like the limited colour scheme, however, some area could do with a little more work imo, such as colour transition on the bone areas (horns, teeth on his necklace) and the metallics, but otherwise, nicely done mate.

one last thing, what are the grassy reeds made from?

Chris:cool:

(p.s. there is a pretty biggish gap between the banner pole and the grots hand)

Only very slightly converted Jake, the grots right hand is, as is the banner.

As Makari is standing where the stikbomb chukkas usually go I decided to mount these on his gun which helps it look more shooty and therefore more orky.

The grass reeds are cut from some dirt cheap large artist brushes- they were 10 for £2. Absolutley no good for painting though!!!

Brushlicker and Freak!
Well I do like the banners.
The metals are the main bit letting it down, scrapes an 8 from me.
