feeling blue today - everyone is leaving

This week, we were blessed by putting up 2 young ladies from Austrialia that are over here doing a play at Disney. Troop of 60 kids from their high school drama department. My daughter\'s drama department found housing for all of them. We delivered them to school this morning where they loaded up on a bus and are off to Las Vegas for a night, then on to LA and back home to Oz.

My youngest is leaving this morning to go watch her boyfriend graduate from Marine Corps Boot Camp. She\'s got about a 6 hour ride up with his parents and will be back Friday.

Vince\'s Round Robin dwarf finally got some paint on him from my brushes and is off to Oz as well. (I know I\'m late, but with a house full of girls all weekend, I did not get to paint. ).

Boy, the house is going to feel empty tonight.

Ahh, but the oldest is still there. She leaves in 2 weeks to see her fiance graduate from Army boot camp.

Ok, I\'m not seeing a down side to all this Kevin.
Yup, nothing but jealousy from me too. I\'ve got to wait until December before I get the flat to myself and some quality painting time. Problem is, with the amount of things I\'m buying between now and then, hardly any of it\'s going to get done :(

Another cup of coffee to shake the funk off. Just early empty nest syndrome.... Realization that my kids are about to leave the house all growed up - wether I like it or not.

Yep, the rest of the week should be quiter and maybe I can get some painting or terrain done.

I can empathize actually....As my girls become older and become more active in being away from us, I am slowly starting to realize I am not going to be the most important thing in thier lives forever.

I love my wife dearly, but I will be sad when the house is just ours, and the kids are off living their lives.

Why can\'t they just stay eight forever?:(

My mom was all tears when I headed off to basic right after graduating high school. After I got out of the army, hubby stayed in, and we were in El Paso. He got unaccompanied orders for Korea, and there was NO WAY I was going to stay in El Paso on my own. (Horrible town, armpit of America as far as I\'m concerned) I had decided to move back to my hometown while he was gone, and somehow my mom convinced me to move in with them for the year. Yeah, that lasted about 3 months. My parents and I get along so much better when we\'re not living together. But, Airhead, I\'m sure you probably have a better relationship with your girls than I do with my folks.

Our daughter is staying with my MIL on Friday, so we get a date night. First time in months. I think Chinese food sounds good! Maybe a movie.

Spazzy, My wife and I were both in the Army too. You are right about EP. and Juarez sucks as well. Bliss is an ironic name for that post.

Geeze, I got a boy (6 at the end of the month), girl (3) and an unknown (-5 months). I can\'t wait for them to go, but I suppose that\'s cause there are still so many years between now and then. They were at the MILs for about a month earlier this year while we were renovating the house and it was bliss.

Fathers wouldn\'t worry so much, but they remember how they were when they were their daughters age.
