Feeling Industrious

This is a completely pointless post, really, because most people\'s response will be along the lines of \'who cares?\' or \'I should get my significant other to do this\' which will incur the wrath of many upon me...

Got home from work, and set to cleaning up my work area. Organizing things, moving them into a semblance of neatness, making more space for other things. I\'ve been at it for over an hour, now, and there\'s a significant dent made in the project.

With everything neatened up, I may actually be able to get back to painting again....

The last three weeks I\'ve had several mini orders come in, and I keep dumping the stuff (still in the bags) on my work area. I\'ve tried pushing stuff to the side to work... but there is no more side to push stuff to anymore. Looks like a thourogh cleaning is in order for me as well.

Yup...I spend a full day cleaning, organizing, and generally lamenting in my little room, recently.

Now, less than a week later, its a disaster again. I think I prefer general chaos to perfect order....

Good for you!!

I did this a couple of weeks ago. Huge difference! I actually find things now... :duh:

I don\'t mind if things are scattered throughout my desk or if I can\'t find them, my problem is with dust and cat fur!
I feel it in my brushes, minis, working surfaces...
Oh damn you, windy season! And cats!

you want to see the desk of a sick mind? Look up Wiccan Pony\'s deck. That thing is more organized than (well than anything I can think of). Mine is just the opposite - PHD - Piled High & Deep.

Yeah, same for me... my work area is quite dusty/furry and I have to dust off minis before I start painting :(

Of course, if it was tidy, I wouldn\'t have such a hard time cleaning it up. As it is I have to move a zillion little things!

That is one of my pre-painting rituals. For some reason I find it hard to paint in a messy work area.

C\'mon admit it!!! You\'ve never painted at that desk! You have a secret painting corner somewhere and use that desk for display purposes only, right? :] There\'s not even any miscoloured spots or anything.

A bit of a tidy up does wonders for the soul. Well, it makes your work space cleaner at least. Highly recomended every now and again.

Think the last time I cleaned my desk I found two or three WIP pieces that I had forgot that I had started. :p

I\'ma pretty tidy chap really, but it\'s handy to shift out all the little bits of crap that acumulate around the old work space.

I remember some time back there was a big posting on various people\'s work areas, and I was sooo envious of some of the dedicated work spaces! I wish I had a dedicated area too, right now all I\'ve got is my box of stuff and dining table!

I used to have a dining table. Now I just have a painting table. Being single does have its advantages.
