Female Skeletons

So there I was painting up the base of Harry the Hammer and there\'s all these skeleton warriors which you always assume to be male. It got me thinking ...... does a Necromancer always pick male skeletons. I mean if a Necromancer goes to a graveyard to raise a few more dead for his army, does his raise dead spell specifically target male skeletons? And is it in his best interests to only raise the male undead..... \'cos if I raised the missus from her eternal sleep.....boy I would be in trouble I think i\'d rather face a whole host of skeleton warriors rather than face the wrath of the recently awoken missus with a rolling pin !!

once they have decayed to the point of being a skeleton, you can\'t tell the difference between a male and female. not in this scale anyway, unless you can measure the pelvic angles! most warriors would be female anyway.

although as you said, i would only raise the men coz the females would just be scary!

I imagine that necromancers usually choose battlefields to raise their dead, and most of the warriors killed in those battles are likely to be male... That\'s my logic anyway

If the necromancer followed the prevalent trends in political correctness, he (or she) would certainly have to have a 50-50 split. Furthermore, a couple of skeletons with a disability is a must. Add to that a few ethnic minority skellies and perhaps a cross-dresser, you\'ve probably got the \'correct\' set-up.

didnt games workshop used to have a skeleton model called a tanglebones that had weird bones all over the place?
ive never seen it but it has been described to me.

haha, in an addition to the female skeletons thing....in our medieval re-enactment group someone suggested we should have a mock battle of the women verses the men and the men looked terrified.

On the practical front, a necromancer could choose to raise males only due to their skeletons generally being more robust and therefore able to take more damage.

On the other hand he could raise a few women for a berserker or commando group and dress them in pinks and powder blue... because, as we all know, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!

Ah, but what about Dwarfen or Orc skeletons, or Ogres for that matter. They\'d be pretty robust.
