Filling gaps with Vallejo plastic putty

I was curious to know if anyone uses this to fill in rough or textured surfaces that sometimes appear on metal miniatures. I see this most frequently on larger metal minis like wolfen from confrontation and the like. Is it good for smoothing out these rough surfaces or is there something better? I am aware of the milliput method where you mash it and mix it with water to make a paste-like substance but I do not like this method. Thanks for the help!

What are the specific issues? Might help with suggested alternatives.

If you don\'t like it due to something inherent to the Milliput - and simply mixing the blasted stuff is enough to put a lot of people off! - you might try it with another epoxy putty; MS is good, I imagine that A+B, Apoxie Sculpt or ProCreate are worth a shot. Squadron Green or similar might be worth a try too.

Bragon was using the Vallejo stuff to smooth out some rough areas/heat pitting during one of the seminars he did in TX last year, and seemed to work pretty well. I think he had another tube of similar stuff (squeeze a bit out, thin slightly, etc) but I can\'t remember what it was.

Magi sculp works great as a replacement to milliput for the mash it and paste method ....
There are problems with that particular technique but a way to make it a lot easier is forget about mashing it.. mix up the putty and make it into a small bowl like shape and put water in this bowl and just use the brush to get the thinned putty out avoids getting lumps and I\'ll be honest the putty method is the best I\'ve found for smoothing out pitted surfaces...

If the pitting is grainy like sand particles then a buffer tool on a dremmel will help a lot.. when it\'s ptted like holes then a thin layer of putty either as a paste as described or just a thin layer can work wonders.. that\'s where magi sculp comes in you can put the thinnest of layers on and when it\'s freshly mixed just a brush with water will flatten it don a treat..

Vallejo plastic putty is ok but still needs to be smoothed after so kind of defeats the point.. the problems with it are it is a bugger for going grainy when thinned also in thin layers it loses a lot of it\'s adhesion so flakes off the model with the slightest of touches...
