Okay, apparaently Hell has frozen over and there are pigs flying past my window. I\'ve finally finished something.

I give you....three Grey Knights.

I\'m reasonably happy with them. They were started before I realised I\'d missed mould lines and so got stripped, repainted, stripped, repainted etc.

Sadly Brother Iestyn didn\'t survive to the final stage, meeting his untimely demise when I dropped him on the carpet whilst the gloss varnish was still sticky.

I thought this was a joke thread!

They look really good, (i dont think ive ever seen anything painted by you before.. :D)

You should paint more and strip less! (unless the stripping is for money..)

*rubs eyes* Am I really seeing this? Looks good though! You used metallics on the armour, right?

Next thing we know, rev\'ll have painted something too, and then life as we know it will end in firey destruction and butterflies....

Now that will be butterflies and raindrops.
He could get 3 or 4 out of this. One for each marine, then the squad pic....

Don\'t forget back AND front pic submissions. That\'ll take it to 8. lol

Thanks people. Yes I could get more submissions out of it but I didn\'t want to have an endless conveyer belt of Grey Knights. I do have another 24 of the buggers to paint as it is. And that\'s not including the terminators. lol The Justicar and weapon specialist for the squad will be seperate but as I haven\'t started those yet expect those in about two years. Technically I have started them as I had gotten 19 of the GKs partially painted before I started to redo them. Of course they all have to be stripped and prepped better. With these it just seemed an endless chore of painting, finding a mould line or rough area, stripping that part, repainting, finding another mould line... At least I learnt a few things doing these. One is not to shade using the GW inks, not that I can now as I\'ve run out of the black. The washes are much easier and go on smoother.

@Amazon Warrior. Yes the metals are true metallics with a glaze of regal Blue on the armour. That along with the dull cote removes a fair bit of the shine from the metallics. Not all of it though, otherwise there\'s be no point in using metallics.

@Alex I wish I got paid to strip, at least the minis. I\'d have a fortune.

@reverend. Indeed, Welsh marines. The squad of nine will all have Welsh names. Not sure about the other two squads just yet.

I like it. It\'s subtle and different to the marines in all their primary colours I usually see. Ooooo, meant to say that I really like the blades of the weapons, too. I must have forgotten in the shock of seeing your painted minis! ;) lol

Here\'s hoping we see more from you soon! :)

The blades were the last thing to be painted so you could say they\'re the result of lots of practice with brush control. :D

Mind you, sorting out the colour for them took me through several layers of different blues until in the end it was basically black + regal blue with increasing amount of regal blue and then added some enchanted blue but no more than 50% and then add white to that mix.

They turned out pretty much as I had imagined. The old test piece, apart from having way too thich paint, was just overdone. With these it gives me room to increase the intensity for the Justicar, Terminators and the Grand Master, as the psychic energy coursing through the blade increases with the rank of the Grey Knight.

They looks grrreat Roger! The grey looks almost metallic to me, which I like a lot. Not so fond of the blue highlights on the blades - nicely done but I\'m not sure if it \'makes sense\'.

Or he could just submit the exact same photo twice like in two of the top 10 last seven days currently!

Ah, well, the grey is metallic. The blue on the blade isn\'t really a highlight, it\'s supposed to represent the psychic energy flowing through the blade. In game terms, a Grey Knights Nemesis weapon gives a bonus to strength due to all GKs being psychics, so it\'s more than a normal blade. Glad you like them, though.
