Finding new Miniatures (not controversial this week...or is it?)

What's the oddest way you've stumbled on a new range of minis?
I was looking for images of the painted Mierce Dragon Angrislaug:

In the google image search I noticed this odd fellow:

First undead whale mini I've ever seen.

The main site is down (but the hosted image is still available...bad web-master bad!), but the place holder told me about their kickstarter:

With some rather interesting minis,

A Death Kiwi:

And a little nest of wee chicks...aaaaw...

Once the main site is restored, I'll probably be getting me some!

Fairly convoluted path to find some minis, yours better?

Prove it!

Very cool! I do like that dragon too, but Mierce has a bad rep doesnt it?
No, not at all.
They have delivered on all their kickstarter obligations, have an excellent reputation with their new customers, and are very responsive to feedback.

There are some people who were hurt by the previous company going bust, these people will never buy from anything associated with the old company.
Their loss....Mierce produce some of the finest minis available.

The bad rep is attached to the owner due to how he financed the start up for mierce and found a lot of the stock for the first kick starter. The company has acted very well from the first kick starter onwards with the exception of them trying to cover up who the actual owner was during the first kickstarter.

How I've not seen that dragon before now is beyond me? Tell me that is not a kickstarter exclusive.

It is part of their Darklands: First edition. When I click on the link on their site, I get : "This category is currently restricted for your level of user access." So maybe kickstarter, or maybe OOP?

The dragon hasn't been released to the public yet. It hasn't even been shipped to the backers of the KS. It will be available to the general public in a while. There is only one Kickstarter exclusive figure and that is "Penda on horse with wolf-helmet". But you can get Penda on horse, just not with the helmet.

Love the dragon, but not so the wings. I wonder if the Rackham Titan Dragon's wings would fit on this beast, reckon it'd look great.

The whale i believe is from the ArcWorlde KickStarter. It is part of the undead pirates faction. I pledged in the KS, but for some Bayou Orcs as i recall. He has a bunch of the minis sculpted, but i do not think anything has been cast yet...potential.

I saw the master for the Whale at Euro last year and that photo does not do it justice.
Alex, the sculptor is only 20(or 21) and very talented, so supporting the figures he's doing.... No Brainer.
He's closely linked to Infamy & Joek sharing their stand with LOTS of temptations which I did not pass up.
