Fine Wire Mesh in the UK

Hi all,

I'm trying to find fine wire mesh in the UK for modelling terrain and bases.


I've found the link below which has 1mm*2mm holes - sounds about right for 28mm scale would you say?

You can find fine wire mesh from shops that specialise in er shall we say herbal cigarette Paraphernalia cough allegedly. They apparently use it as a mesh inside small pipes to stop the ..Err....herbs....falling all the way down the pipe .....so I'm told...apparently

But you can get brass or steel or aluminium as you please. Very usefull for 28mm.

You can also buy bongs.....sh*t didn't mean to say that!

If I recall correctly ownership of the paraphanalia isn't unlawful, it's the Weed itself.
Anyhow fine wire mesh is available, if you look in the local Poundland they have Anti-splash mesh for frying pans which should be ideal (used it myself) and FAR cheaper and less chance of being watched by the boys in blue than the bong shop.

You can also get it car repair shops

You can get plastic or metal wire mesh at the hardware store. It's usually cheaper than most other sources. It should be in with the screen door and/or the fencing supplies.

At least, here in North America. I'd assume there are bugs and rodents and therefore anti-pest screens in the UK too?

Halfords. Go and get a car bodywork repair mesh kit. That works pretty good in 28mm scale.

www.mcmaster.com - Watch out for the pricing, can sometimes fluxuate since they are not a manufacturer

http://www.bwire.com/ - Good pricing and service over the phone if you call and ask questions. Will help you decide what mesh you need/want.
