Try not to let the voting dampen your spirits. CMON voters are a fickle bunch. Why else would something I spent a week on be rated higher than something that made the cut at GD?
A few things on your ork - you have multiple pictures. I can only speak for myself, but anytime I run across a single model that has been submitted multiple times, I tend to start scoring the consecutive images lower. I know you don't have access to PS, but as mentioned Gimp is very similar and is free. Also (and probably related to the first issue), your camera has whited out a lot of the model, so it looks rather flat. I'm sure you have plenty of contrast, but it's hard to tell in the pics.
The real issue with scoring at CMON is that your models have to be judged on your pictures, not your paint. I've seen examples where awesome models got bombed due to poor photos, and also models that scored really high, but were less impressive without the help of PS.
