Bigger pics available here. Thanks again for votes/comments guys, I\'d like to know what you think about this guy since he was a bit of an experiment in a number of ways.

As I wrote in the WIP-thread: great job - an inspiration to all those of us who plan to paint this particular mini in the future...

In particular I like the cloth and the face.
Well done!

Great work! :) You\'ve tied it together really good colourwise and the technique is also nice! The freehand is well done as well.

This is a very good paintjob, especially on the face and the metallics. Whatever experiments you were talking about, they seem to have come out with good results. :)

What I don\'t like about this mini, and this is no fault of yours, are the folds in the robe. They look very clumsy and unnatural. They make the robe look solid and not like soft fabric.

The dullcote seemed to take a bit of the Scorched Brown washing out of the chestplate... it was a bit more evident away from the stomach area before. Oh well, I\'m still happy with the metallics :D

I\'m just glad my first attempt at freehand in ages didn\'t horribly botch the mini. I hate freehand, it\'s really the one thing I don\'t have patience for.

Ritual: The front of the robes weren\'t all that hot IMO, the sculpt was a bit strange. The center fold didn\'t go all the way to the ground for example... kinda weird. The back of the robe was way more fun to paint though.

Yeah, the front of the robe is the worst part. Poor sculpting there.

You said something about the robe not looking like fabric... I kinda got the impression while painting the thing that it might have been a really heavy winter tunic kind of thing, or even leather. It certainly didn\'t \"feel\" like cloth when I was painting it. Overall I really like the sculpt though, I think it\'s one of the best GW ones of recent years. Shame the front of the robe isn\'t quite up to the same level as the rest of him, though. So close :D
