The company that did the Frazetta \"Painting With Fire\" announced some time back that they were also in the process of restoring and transferring the classic \"Fire and Ice\" animated swords-and-sorcery film to DVD. A fellow member of the Conan.com forums just posted this email he recieved announcing the eminent release of said DVD:
\"We have exciting news to announce.
This August marks the heavily anticipated release of the Ralph Bakshi / Frank Frazetta animated film \"Fire and Ice\" on DVD. Also being released at the same time is a very special limited edition 2-Disc set that bundles \"Fire and Ice\" and \"Frazetta: Painting With Fire\" together.
We\'ll be selling 100 pre-release copies of the special 2-disc set at this year\'s San Diego Comic Con which takes place this week from July 13 through July 17. You will also be able to get your copies signed by \"Fire and Ice\" director Ralph Bakshi as well as \"Painting With Fire\" director Lance Laspina.
Any remaining copies will be signed and numbered by Lance Laspina and placed for sale on the Cinemachine website.
In addition, we\'ll be doing a panel discussion on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 in room 6B with Ralph Bakshi and Blue Underground founder Bill Lustig. Aside from showing clips from both films, Mr. Lustig will discuss in detail how \"Fire and Ice\" was painstakingly cleaned up and restored for the DVD release.
So if you\'ve already made plans to attend the Con, come visit us at table L2 in the back right hand corner of the convention floor, against the wall.\"
Of course, I can\'t recall the name of the company and it isn\'t mentioned here, but I am excited to see one of my favorite movies on DVD finally!
EDIT: The company is Blue Underground; they also released another old sword-and-sorcery film called \"Conquest\" that was done by Lucio Fulci, who is more known for his horror films.
