Hi, they came out good for your first attempt. Thin your paints and build up more layers for a smoother finish.
Preparation makes all the differnece so make sure you get rid of all the seam lines and stuff.

Then I certainly echo what 10ball said, prep is key. Take out all the mouldlines and drill out gun barrels - it'll make a big difference. Thin your paints a bit and make sure it goes on smoothly. Maybe if you are painting large amounts of the same colour ie space marines/tanks/dreads etc, a cheap airbrush and compressor would be worth the investment for base colours. Also try out some washes

Yeah. Propper prep work, cheap airbrush for the base colour, then wash and then some lining and detail work. Just put a little paint on the brush, dab some of it away and use the side of the brush on the edges of the miniature. Focus on stuff facing upwards and take a little bit more time on the face as it's the main focus spot. Finally take some time with the bases. Buying some nice sand with different particle sizes or textured paint, then painting and washing and then add some tufts of grass. In case you want snow bases for the white scheme there are some great articles on here.
