First Attempt at Camoflage

The colors look good but the spots seem a little ... sharp? I don\'t know.... maybe after a little shading the sharpness won\'t be as obvious. I like the idea for camo on widowmakers though. It fits well with the rules.

i agree with the comment about the spots a little to sharp,
Ok ive just typed in camouflage into Google and selected images, it brings up some great examples, take a look, camouflage was taken by us puny humans from nature and those animal thingys have it down quite well,
I apologise if this post sounds patronising, i really like your idea and wanted to supply a little help if poss!!!

How does everyone else paint their camo. I normally paint the background colour first, shade and highlight it and then apply the camo pattern with thin washes before final highlights. The idea of highlighting each colour in the pattern seperately is too daunting.
Like the coloures you\'ve chosen for the camo. but wearing red clothes underneath seems a bit like using a condom with a hole in it to me. i.e not much point in wearing the camo if these guys are all dressed up like little red riding hood underneath.

I agree on the gloves. They, like the coats, are going to get a flesh wash when I\'m closer to completion, to brown them up a bit, without covering everything.
I\'ve mentioned before, in the past, that I\'m very fond of using flesh wash for various things. That hasn\'t changed.
My Menoth thread collapsed when I accidentally deleted the pictures from my photobucket account, and couldn\'t find the backups. The Guardian is almost finished, now, and doesn\'t live up to my hopes and dreams. The white\'s all nice and smooth, but everything else went tits up on me, and it\'s a bare gaming standard, despite my best efforts. Feh.
Back to my camo efforts, here....
I was trying to base it roughly (if more sparsely) on the canadian military\'s new camo uniform, which I saw at work when a Major came in to buy furniture. Hopefully it\'ll look closer to accurate with the wash toward the end.
And can someone PLEASE tell me why little tiny bits of unpainted metal show up so well in photographs, but can\'t be seen by the naked eye????????

Well, they still need bits of touch-ups, but I\'m fairly pleased with the camo effect I\'ve managed, though, as someone said earlier (I didn\'t read the whole thread again to confirm who)... it\'s still a little sparse. Basing coming soon as I replenish my gravel supplies.

Base wise it looks good but it still needs shadows and such.
