First attempt at speed painting

The title is somewhat of a give-away.

Boris

I saw an online competition with the theme of \"flesh\" but a very immediate deadline. So I spent one night assembling this and had less than two hours free to paint it. Previously, the fastest I\'ve ever painted a mini was about 6 hours and I\'m fairly pleased with the result (although there will almost certainly be several touchups later - axe, nipples and leathery bits).

Most importantly for me, I think this is the first mini I\'ve finished this year, so hopefully it\'s a kick start to a more productive period.

Please vote and let me know what you think (I\'m not expecting high scores for such a rush job but it will be interesteing to see how it compares to my other stuff).

Many thanks and here\'s the link again...

never figured out how people can paint that fast, takes me ages even for the most basic paint job. This is quite good and should rate some where between 5 and 6 i think. It\'s better than a lot of tabletop minis/armies but as you pointed out there is a lot of touch-ups to do before it can score higher. Think the skin is quite good as it is

Hopefully, I\'ll get a lot more painting done soon as I\'ll be dropping the wife and boy off in Poland next week and coming back for two weeks alone :bouncy: I can get back to some seriously slow painting then ;)

Nice. It helps I guess that he is 99% skin.
Did the vote thing.
Yeah, combine that with the new GW Foundation paints and he nearly painted himself ...except he\'d have done a better job lol

Basically, he was \"primed\" in brown, basecoated with Tallarn Flesh, which was highlighted with Elf Flesh and a wash of Tallarn and Dark Flesh. A quick glaze of Tallarn with a little Camo and Catachan Green watered right down and Vallejo Glaze medium mixed in. The rest was simply basecoated and washed with brown ink (hence the stain on his leg).

The base is from Black Cat Bases (base and mini were both bought at Salute) and was heavily drybrushed.
