First cmon mini Arkeon

Hi all, after watching the stunning miniatures posted to cmon for some time now I have submitted my first miniature, its Arkeon Sanath from Rackham. Any information or tips on how I can improve my painting skill are greatly appreciated.

gosh a lot of you make me cry. :~(

wanting advice to improve a 9+ mini....i got nothing. just keep it away from me so i dont somehow mess it up by looking at it in person.

Just to clarify, this is not the first miniature I ever painted, just the first one I thought was decent enough to take a picture of. I\'ve been painting with acrylics for 7 months or so. Thats not counting a few figs I painted with testors enamels about 20 years ago.

same here. 20+ years with testors...now 3 years with armoury and GW paints.

sad thing is you get MUCH better results than me.

welcome to the forums Argonaux, outstanding first miniature, I look forward to seeing more from you. You have very nice sence of color in this mini. The nmm on the sword however is a bit too abrupt although I think with a few more tries you will perfect it. Your base is also very well done.

After seeing a few more of you miniatures I think I\'ll be able to give better feedback after getting a better sense of your style. So keep posting!

yeah I see what you mean about the sword, I was having a little trouble getting a smooth blend using scorpion green.
I was reading the rules concerning the Dirz and Arkeon and I had it in mind to make the little vial on his hip filled with glowing green mutagenic drugs that the dirz use in battle and then I made his eyes and his sword glow the same color attempting to give the feeling that he is suffused with the power of the mutagenic drugs as he watches over the battlefield from atop the rock outcrop.

not sure what that means, but i been on CMoN for a few years now and never really noticed the forums, so i figured it would be good to associate with the community, since i am a part of it and all.
