First diorama - (updated photos 9/12)

First, a special thanks to \"demonherald\" for getting me a new model genestealer. These things are FANTASTIC! Especially compared to the dozen or so old model (early 1990s) versions I have.

Unfortunately while I picked up a decent camera I still have dookie lighting. I hope to correct that so I can show this thing off.

Like the title suggests I\'m doing a diorama - I will be using a new plastic terminator vs. genestealer on one side and an old plastic terminator (the solid one piece guys) and genestealer on the other.

It could just be the photo but the purple is really well done whereas the green looks a little rough in places. Nice work overall tho.

It\'s the photo. The green actually fades to white at the edges - while the face fades from white to green. The whole thing looks very chitinous (well, it\'s a word now).

I very nearly didn\'t bother posting because of the photos. I use \"natural light grow bulbs\" for painting because it tends to give a more realistic idea of what the color looks like -- of course it turns orange in photos just like halogen. Sigh. So when I adjust out the orange I lose my highlights.

I snapped off about 30 photos this morning and managed to get a few that *ALMOST* show off the green highlighting. I actually go from a very dark green to white at the edges in about a dozen layers.

Terminator Update

I got to spend about 30 min on this guy after finishing up the Leman Russ commission I have been working on.

I am pretty pleased with the shading and highlighting on his wee bitty head. I may go in and soften his left side a bit though. Very pleased with the shading on his fist. Also finally starting how to get my camera to cooperate with my poor lighting.

As you said, the left side of his helmet is too darkly shaded, though I really like the right side and the fingers on the fist.
