First mini, don\'t laugh!

Hey guys, this is my first mini ever, and I would like some comments and tips on improving my stuff. I don\'t actually play, I just wanted to try it, and my friend Owen (Nelson) gave me some spare bits, and helped me paint him. I was proud of the blending on the arm, and his skin came out alright.

Oh, ya wanted comments? Yeah, I think the arm is easily the best part of it, except for maybe that little grey splotch on the hand. I really think you could\'ve done better all around though, if you had just taken a bit more time. You did really well on the arm, but I noticed you were getting a bit antsy in the end to finish it. Patience, grasshopper, and I will teach well in the ways of painting.....
Anyways, great job, and fruckin\' amazing for your first mini!! I\'m regretting helping you now...back to Dragonsreaches preferred method: Put your hands under the hammer there, Ez.

Actually for a first attempt, its quite good. If I could paint like that when I started, te monkey gods themselves only know where I would be by now - after painting for 22 yrs

Excellent work for your first attempt!!! You seem to have a good steady hand and good brush control. You are right to be proud of the blending on the arm. Very good, especially for a first try.

Now for some suggestions. Compared to the skin and even the pants, the vest looks a little flat. A few more highlights would help set it off. Other than that, the primary thing you need is practice. Practice, practice, practice is really the only way to get significant improvement.

Uhhh....thanks, guys! Crazy forums you\'ve got here.

But really, thanks alot, i\'ll try and highlight everything a bit more, i rushed it a bit on the end, but it should be pretty easy to go over it, right?
I\'m not really interested in warhammer anything, and you\'ve probably gathered from owen that we live in a hole, so there\'s not any other games we can play. So anyways, I\'m not really ready for the investment, because I\'m about to buy a bike, but hopefully i can keep on painting and scrounging guys off of owen.

Actually theres a new painter in CMON who goes to my local GW store : Ctansupportgroup. I keep threatening his hands as he\'s getting rather good after only 18 months or so...................little git .

As to the originator of this thread thats a good piece of blending into the arm. And while I\'m not a fan of mutants as such it\'s a good paintjob. Welcome aboard Seraiah.
