on the tree lord model I think you need to add colour to the lass that is included in the tree lord model so the two figures harmonise a bit better. maybe some gentle washes of the purple in the shadows?

the death dealer model is looking nice. nice dark atmosphere to it.

Coyotebreaks Thanks, I'll keep that in mind when I get back to the girl on that one,
I got my new camera (Olympus tg-6) so I figured I'd share the DD project as it sits. Pretty happy with it, the fig, and the camera. Other stuff happening as well. The Jungle girl is only a couple steps away from being mounted! And I have a couple 2d paintings working as well (nice to get back on that 'angle" as well again).

Thanks Gorb! Update on things around the Tiki garage, I am so close to done with the jungle babe. She's on the dio and today I am waiting for delivery of my final pieces for this project. Photos soon. No progress on the Treelord. I've started a post apocalyptic Vegas themed 75mm Plague Dr scene, photos soon. Today I have spent more time on the Death Dealer, almost finished here as well:

Thanks St. Toad, I'm trying to be as faithful to the original as possible (for me).
I'm slowly working on so many projects at once. well, when I get up off my ass anyway. Finding it hard to be motivated for more than a little bit at a time. Getting a kind of stir crazy, and I won't be back to work anytime soon. Enough bitching, I have news, good news! In a few days I will be receiving an Epax X1 3d printer in the mail! Excited and a bit intimidated at the same time! I intend to design a few minis of my own soon. First I need to figure out how to run the printer properly. That's gonna be my focus for a while. I've already digested a bunch of info from youtube- until the machine is here it all seems scary.
As for actual progress in the painting....
I found out that the Zombiecide game has tributes to some Monty Python Holy Grail characters. I had to get Bob/Tim the Enchanter! Had to, hear me? He has been perhaps my favorite from that movie for about all my life. Well, as I neared finishing (I still don't consider him done yet) him, I randomly ran across a couple videos for lit up marker terrain. Had to be done to compliment Tim. It all went pretty fast, and I'm pretty happy with him. I want to go back and touch up a little more on the fig (as usual). For now though I think it's time to revisit a few other projects.

I know what its like to get bogged down with so many projects Tiki, I really love the wizard guy...the colour choices, the special effects and the base are all on point.

OMG. I don't know where to start. Been a month and a half since my last post. That's when my 3d printer came into my life. It has dominated just about every ounce of my attention ever since. I'm still out of work due to "the Vid". I won't be returning to work for another 2 or 3 months. If that weren't the case I'd have had a much harder time balancing the learning of my printer with demands of "real life".
I've now gone from buying minis that I don't paint to printing them! LOL. I am starting to buckle down and put paint to some minis. I suppose there is a bright spot in my habits. I have adopted the habit of priming my minis as part of my printing process. So now the pieces that I print are all primed up and ready for paint. Most of the painting I have been up to as of late is what I would consider "practice pieces". Been working on skin tones and nmm mostly, as well as textures.
An update kinda sux without pics, so I feel compelled to add some. I just don't know where to start. I think I'll just throw up a bunch of pics. Some are those practice pieces and a few are... projects, yeah, that's what I'll call them.
Awright, I just went through my files and resized a bunch o photos. There's more, but I'm sure this is plenty for now.
Damn- I once or twice in the past was able to upload multiple pics at once, Such a pain to have to upload each pic i_n_d_i_v_i_d_u_a_l_l_y! Any help with that one?

There is so much more going on, I just felt like I needed to check in. Next posts will be more of the usual nature, project by project.
thanks for stopping by -Joe

Nice collection!
For the pics upload, I recommend you use an external service like imgur of similar.

I love the base with trees and mushrooms. Really nice ambiance.

Are all of those printed by you? Some look a lot better than others (detail wise) was that due to inexperience with the printer or some sculpts are just better than others? I don't have a resin printer so mostly just curious in case I decide to step into that new playground

Thanks guys!
Eki.. yes those are my prints. There are a few in those pics that have not been primed, that's probably why some look less detailed. Without question as time marches on my ability to get a crispier print has improved. Some sculpts are of course "better" than others, just like any other kind of fig. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I'm no pro but I have literally spent the last weeks nonstop printing and researching the subject. If nothing else I'm sure I can point you in the right direction.
So I now have a new obsession, yes newer than the printer! I discovered Grimdark style. Hmmm, I always considered myself a "fantasy" painter. Now I find myself knee deep in 40K research as that seems to be the subject of most Blanchitsu/GD art. Of course with my new printer I am hesitant to invest too heavily into the GW money machine. I can see the style crossing into fantasy so we shall see where it takes me. I have a friend willing to give up some nice 40k stuff and my local Hobbytown USA is closing it's doors and having a big sale tomorrow, so I am sure to get my hands on some "official" stuff. Other good side of this is that I have project or two stalled that have renewed interest to me.

ThanksMAXxxx, I think interesting sums it up.
I've had a productive coupe days. Working on a Grimdark style GW Tech Priest Enginseer. I'm following a tutorial from Zatcaskagoon Miniatures from the Grindark Compendium. I have his base all done and waiting. I used failed 3d print parts to make the base. Waiting on some supplies to be delivered so I am substituting a few products out from the ones used in the tutorial, otherwise following it closely. Surprising how quick the process actually goes.
