Flat Varnish turning unclear/white

I just sprayed a mini (after giving it a gloss varnish yesterday) with a flat varnish (of the brand : Mr.Hobby). But something happened and the varnish became unclear/white in most areas. I have used this combination a few times before without this kind of problems - for instance on this model : http://www.coolminiornot.com/96905

What has happened, and how do I make sure it doesn´t happend again - this time it was just a rank and file trooper, but I would be crushed if it happened to a miniature I had spend weeks painting.

Hope someone can help!

Possibly the Humidity (Sorry don\'t know where you are) has affected the drying time of the primary varnish and caused the milky effect.
There have been a number of threads reagrding this & similar issues on varnishing.
Try a search as I\'m sure that has been a suggestion that you might be able to re-varnish by hand.

Thank you for the reply!
Sounds likely. I thought about it myself a bit, as I sprayed this mini in the morning at a northwards balcony (so there had been no sun there)

I think I´m stripping this model as the paintjob wasn´t that great.

Have anyone else had this problem when spraying in a location with high humidity ?

I know humidity - central Florida - sub tropical.

I tend to spray my clearcoats on the nicer days. Warm the can up by setting it out on my patio (92 currently). Shake the can like crazy - double the time on the lable. Spray the correct distance away (12\" in my case)

Testor\'s DulCoat has never given me problems. Some old Armory clear matte was not very matte and Krylon Triple Thick Gloss is very good here as well.

White spots can be caused by humidity, the distance incorrect (too far away and the varnish \'cures\' before it gets to the mini.) Moisture under the varnish (was the paint cured a full 24 hours? I use a lot of ink washes and let it set for a couple of days before I varnish.)

possible cures
Try giving it another good wet coat. That has been known to soften the previous layer and eliminate the white blobs. Let that set then a light coat as a wet coad does not seem to be as matte as a very light coat.

Had that problem with an old can of GW matte varnish. It was spring here in Seattle, so while it wasn\'t raining or anything, I think it was humid enough that certain parts where the varnish collected more (like high points on the model) ended up slightly cloudy.

I\'ve since switched to using Krylon Crystal Clear for the clear sealing of gaming minis, and Dull Cote to matte it down. Or just Dull Cote if I\'m not going to game with it. And I only spray on nice days now, and usually earlier in the afternoon if I can.

I would not use any spray products I have just discovered if I store the can of primer inside I can use it but I paint on the matt sealer still I had more than one mini ruined the way you have
