Fluffy Stories?

I know GW has a lot of fluff, and being that I dont play at all (i am afraid if i do start playing, i\'ll be sucked in never to be heard from again) but i\'m digressing, since i dont play, i have no idea about any of this fluff. And being that i am entering the GD\'s this year *crosses fingers* i would really like to know some...is there anywhere online that i can see some of this fluff, ive looked everywhere but because i dont know a darn thing about it, its hard to know what to look for...

i wouldnt ask its just that i like having stories to go behind the mini, so that i have a reason for the color choices or names...and because the ideas i have for the GD are my own, id like to make sure they fit in the \"realm\"

thank you!

As is expected, most of the fluff is printed in the books, each book for each army having its own little section of fluff. The rules books describe the worlds. Oh, and of course it is copyrighted. You\'ll find some stuff for their campaings online, like the Storm of Chaos and the Eye of Terror, also the Lustrian campaign, but you\'ll be missing the larger part of it all.

Ain\'t GW just great? ;)

well right now i\'m working on something for 40K witch hunters ... i think....but knowing both would be the ideal...

so buying the books that purtain to what i am doing is proally the best way eh?

:D what about white dwarf? we have only just started to deal with GW so im pretty much in the dark...a GW virgin if you will ;)

Buying the books just for the fluff sounds like desperate measures to me. The rule books would be necessary, as well as the codices for any army specific stuff.

Sounds like a waste to me, if only for the fluff, Becca.

I don\'t know if this can help you becca.. but for those interested in 40k fluff this little download is great

http://www.clannos.com/warhammer/40kfluffbible.zip

\"Contains an assortment of old 40k backstories and information gathered from old articles in whitedwarf and other places.\"

I\'m not sure about Fantasy fluff.. if you like Chaos.. you could buy the Liber Chaoticas.. I\'m sure you would like Liber Chaotica Tezneck !!1

I guess you could check out some Black Library books... and the WHFB Rulebook has a bunch of fluff stories as well.

I\'ll second the Fluff Bible. Great stuff. I thought it was gone and got shut down by GW.

A lot of the Black Library stuff is REALLY good, but expensive. I have the Jes Goodwin sketchbook and the Index Astartes. Great stuff. Their Space Wolf novels rock.

Also, I really enjoy Inferno. It\'s short stories based off the 40k and fantasy worlds. It can be hard to find, so eBay may be the best bet.

Alot of the novels that Black Library produces are actually really good. If you\'re interested in witch hunters/inquisitors I\'d recommend some books by Dan Abnett: Eisenhorn and Ravenor.

One little book which I think gives a good insight in to the mentality of the empire in WH40k is \"The imperial infantryman\'s uplifting primer\". I don\'t know how difficult it is to find, but maybe try the Black Library website and Ebay.

Well, I haven\'t played since I was 14, but I can reccomend a lot of the books. The recent codices have gotten a little ropey, but all the 2nd edition codices are good (the chaos one with Abbadon on the front is possibly the best).

Also, Liber Chaotica books, Horus Heresy books, the Eisenhorn trilogy (A lot of people like Gaunt\'s ghosts, but they\'re not all that good really), the Inquisition wars trilogy, Ravenor (+R.returns), Index Astartes, 13th black crusade, Inquisitor sketchbook, the main inquisitor book (this is available to download, but I dunno if that includes the fluff aswell), Slaves to Darkness, Rogue trader, and another one called The face of war (I think, I\'ll check later).

If you can\'t get any of them, check here-

Becca, borrow the 40k rulebook from someone and start reading all the background material...if you can\'t find one, I\'ll send you my 3.ed. copy, can\'t use it to play anymore anyways...I may have a 2. ed. witchhunters codex laying around, that\'s got alot of fluff, you can use that too.

Otherwise the Index Astartes is very good, though it concentrates mostly mainly (almost exclusively) on loyal and renegade Space Mairine chapters.

Never read any of the Black Library novels, would like to, though...

BTW, a \"GW virgin\"? Sounds like you\'re already a ways down that path towards GW corruption, I\'d say... I\'d guessonly 79% GWually pure...lollollol

I believe it\'s pretty rare these days. I saw one sell for over $50 on eBay not too long ago. Really cool book. I think it was limited edition.

Well if it\'s for 40k I\'d sugest you try to track down cedric and ask him all the possible questions you can think off. I usually knows the answers to my questions :p :D

I\'ve heard from people who play both games that the \'fluff\' in Warmachine is much better then that in Warhammer. I wouldn\'t know about WH myself, but the WM stuff is awesome!

And you can GET IT ALL in only two books. ;)

(or you could ~cough~ try finding the books you are interseted in on the web ~cough~ Kazaa ~cough)

Let me get this straight...Becca, the non-GW \"98% pure person\" is becoming a fluff girl?

What is the world coming to?:innocent:
