Fluid splashing?

Hi,

I\'m going to collect a nightgoblin force for warhammer... I love those lil\'l green buggers :D I already thought about color schemes and little conversion. Especially the fanatics deserve some attention IMO. Some flying loonies are funny but I want to express the mayhem they can distribute. So here\'s my idea but I don\'t know how to realize: Blood splatting from the ball, like hitting a victim in this moment. How would you do it? And I don\'t want just to paint the blood. Hot glue pistol and than paint it with gloss varnish or modelling the flying body fluids with Green Stuff or something similiar?
The same goes for the chariots with spraying dirt behind the wheels to emphasize the speed. Any ideas?

I think that\'s probably the best method overall, with the most control and versatility at the end of the day.

Try trickling a small amount of water effects (mixed with red ink/paint) down some cotton thread, once dry glue to the affected area,

Really difficult to explain hope you get what i mean,

I think I got what you mean Bignastyshark. I\'ll have to give that a try.
Do you mean with water effects these freaky clear resin stuff? ;)

there is a new technique for bloodand other kind of splatters i´ve recently stumbled over at the german forums.
Here´s the link to the english tutorial at chest of colors . polish site, they got some really great stuff ( and an english forum ), but they´re server can be painfiully slow sometimes.

BLOOOOD ! ( and other gross fluids )

The effect is really stunning , you can see it here at Jar´s Demon Baby from Helldorado:

Demon Baby

i already asked jar if this technique can be used for tabletop mins without breaking the glue/color strings and he said that it shouldn´t be a problem as long as you make them thick enough. Also, you have to VERY quickly as this stuff wil dry in 10 seconds at most !

By the way: If they don´t sell Uhu glue where you live: It´s a clear household glue for all purposes, you should be able to find something that works just as well, the importatn part is the red transparent tamya paint.

Some examples :

*) With hair and glue (gloss varnish helps give a convincing wet look) :

*) With green stuff and wire (on a bigger scale) :

Another thing done for water falls and fountain streams and such is use some product over a fishing line (just to help direct the flow of the water effects or whatever, usually). This can be hung from something, and drip the stuff over the line, paint it on the line, whatever you want to try, you can build up the layers as well, so it doesn\'t have to be perfect right away. To stiffen things up you can use some copper or brass wire instead, cheap and orange\'ish so wont show up much at all even through very transparent materials.

You can use water effects, wood glue, craft glue, crazy glue, epoxy glue, polyurethane, thousand layers of your favourite gloss coat. The good thing about using a clear product is it helps sell the illusion if the blood is transparent a bit. As suggested, add some red ink or paint to the mix before applying.

It\'s also very easy to make clear plastic (or any kind of plastic) strings of blood splashes. Just heat up a rod or bit of sprue, once soft, pull until the soft bit stretches out to the proper thickness, done. You can bend it around and stuff if you want some curve to the splatter. It hardens up fairly fast so just bend and fiddle with it quick and hold on for a few seconds, blow on it...then snip it off after it\'s all hard again. You can also pull and twist and get it to break off with a nice taper AND/OR a nice amount of twist motion.

Last thing I can think of mentioning is something I saw linked on CMON a few months ago. The general idea was the person basically spread some glue or epoxy or water effect or something over a sheet of wax paper or saran wrap or something you can get the glue off of. Potato chip bags might be a good alternative? Anyway, do this in a way that gives you the effect you desire, wavy or smooth or tapered. You can build up layers if need be. Do the same thing again, matching up the first one. Once they\'re cured you can glue them together with some more product and a wire or fishing line if need be. This might not be a good idea for this project, I believe it was used for water streams out of a fountain or off a cliff. Just another idea for the pot.
