So far the only WFB armies I don\'t have are Lizardmen and High Elves.

Still at least you\'ll never catch me with an army of pointy eared ponces lol

And that thing is PLASTIC? Well done, Games Workshop. You continue to keep impressing!

Any idea on who sculpted it? I need to shake his hand.

Yeah the plastics are the shining jewel of GW now. It started for me when the GW Giant came out. I HATED it from a style standpoint but loved it once I put it together and painted it. Plus the extra bits all us fan boys crave are just awesome nowadays.

Can\'t wait to see the rest of the new range. I\'m really excited about the Tomb Kings stuff for next year.

No doubt there will be GW fanboys who will hate me for this but it just gets an \"I suppose it\'s OK\" from me.

It has nothing to attract me to painting it and that would be the only reason for me to buy it.

Mud Duck - yes and no

Apparently in the new rules (due in feb), the Arcanadon from Lustria has been written out, and instead the Engine is placed on a stegadon. That is the rumour. The stegadon kit has the top parts for all 3...stegadon as shown, engine options, a new ancient steg version apparently and possible rumour of a 4th option: rider platform (ie. mazdamundi, saurus oldblood, etc).

Just for the look of the army, I wanted to sculpt my own arcanadon but use the parts here for the engine on it\'s back. I know I did this already but:

I can paint/sculpt alot better now and that other one is way too big to play in games at the stores/tournaments.

But won\'t start any work on it until I see the new armybook.

I will still get 3-5 somewhere..can\'t decide, of the new steg.

Will sell my current mazdamundi (will repaint parts of it to make it better and worth more cash), and prob give away my current stegadon (or may sell the mazdamundi, stegadon, and temple guard as a set ..like a lizardmen strike force thing)... would prefer to replace the metal temple guard with the plastic ones coming out...assuming they look good.

Of course, all I have to go on are those pics and this could very well be an effect of bad pics and/or the paint job, but... I really hate the folds in the skin. They seem much too stiff and not like sagging skin. It\'s like the thing was made of tin foil or something... I don\'t get the impression of gravity affecting the folds at all.

So, judging from these photos, I\'m with Mike on this one. It\'s alright, but no more...

Oh, I also hate the look of the horns, but that is probably due to how they\'re painted, with basically no blending.

hmm

I think the issue is, at least from lots of people on various forums...the lizardmen players all love it, since it\'s alot cooler than what we have now...hehe

but the hardcore painters don\'t like it as much.

(I paint more than play, but I still have a lizardmen army so ....)

:)
