Forest Base for Sylvan Animae

Hi all, I want to get started on my Rackham Sylvan Animae and I want to make a nice forest base for it. Does anyone has some ideas, tutorials, pictures for a nice forest base? This is the miniature where the base is for:

The fluff behind the miniature is, that it blends in with the forest. I want the base and the miniature to represent this. Thnx for your time,

That article is great, but I\'m not sure if its exactly what you\'re looking for. If you\'re just doin it on the minatures base, I\'d suggest using green-stuff to sculpt roots from the entire surface area of the base, and then flock it with a bushy flock, getting sparser as you get closer to the trunk. Kind of like it breaking out of the forest floor.
