Hey guys, looking for some feedback on my latest mini:

Some may, or may not, remember the Sicarius model I made a while ago, the one with the water base. Well I didn\'t intend to make this base a water-base also but when I had finished the mini it already had the slope and everything so I couldn\'t resist The barbed wire is the same as shown in my tutorial: http://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/822

I had intended to enter this in GDUk this year but was prevented from going due to military training, I\'m making Sergeant 1st class next year. So anyway, I\'m looking for feedback, there are many awesome painters hanging about here so I was hoping to get some tips for improvement!

Mud is awesome but I love the gritty feel to it all. Could you do a walk through on the horse flesh?

Thank you for the comments guys! I really appreciate them!

Concerning the mud. I find that when you strive to achieve realism nothing works better than the real deal. The mud on the base is made from soil from the flower beds in my garden Just glue it on like you would anything else using white glue The water plants are made from whatever crops they are growing on the nearby fields (I know nothing of growing crops so I can\'t tell you what kind they were)

Yes, it was painted mostly with various mixes of oilpaints. If you keep them very thinned down (I suppose it would work with acrylics as well) the mud will soak it up and still maintain some of it\'s natural colour (awesome ). To get even more variations in colour I also added some MiG pigments \"Russian Earth\", \"Dark Mud\" and mixes of the two.

I made one last addition:

It\'\'s a custom made waterslide decal, came across a sheet of clear decal paper on eBay that sold for next to nothing and decided to try iy out. I\'m obviously playing with the famous book-title.

As I mentioned in the opening post I intended to bring it to GDUk this year but due to military training I can\'t go. So instead I posted it up here to recieve some feedback on it All it does now is collect dust in my display cabinet, may or may not take it down to the local store for display there but got no real plans for it, maybe enter it next year if I don\'t have anything else by then...

Ahh apologies haha misread the post, shame that you aren\'t enterng GD would have been great to see it in the flesh.

I am hoping to pick this model up at GD from the FW stand

No worries mate

It is an awesome model, mine was almost perfectly cast, I had to resculpt the commiessar\'s right eye lens though and some of the musculature on the horse\'s front right leg (because there was a gap after I attached it). But other than that it was a perfect cast and as you can see it is very well detailed. There\'s a choice of hands as well, you can either use the binoculars like I did or he can wave about with a las-pistol.
