Forgeworld Air Brush paints - They want how much?!

So they are $7CAD for 20ml of paint each. I was looking forward to these, but now I think I will pass given that there are thousands of paints out there with similar colors and attributes for less. I am sad, this is the first time I have have looked at a Forgeworld product and gone "Not worth it". Hell, this is the first time I have looked at new paints and said "Meh, I have enough/ better". Did they price themselves out or am I being cheap? NOT looking to bash FW I love their stuff and if anyone gets these I would like to hear/see a review, but the price was a shocker for me. Also, more flip top pots, really? REALLY?! ~sigh~

No, just we don't want to give enough. :)

Personally after scale75 or Andrea paint i'm not even interested in trying them.
In my opinion gw/fw products are mediocre at best.

Also as far as I know those flip tops are regular paints. The ab ones are still in development.

Their 26 color set is the same price as the Badger Minitaire 84 piece set. Also 20 ml vs 2 oz (60 ml) so they are 10 times the price per ml. (500ml vs 5,000ml for $150 US) of the Minitaire paints. Wow, that seems like quite a premium to pay. Since I already have the Minitaire set, I probably won't be in the market any time soon.

ohh, I stand corrected, they ARE the AB paints in those pots.
and as expected what a nice price for the 26 colors... for the same you could get 5, maybe 6 sets from scale color (so 40-48 colors)

I'll buy a few of them if I hear good things. There are some Metallics in particular that look tempting. As much as I lovey Scalecolours, there are some tones they are missing. I'd never buy them all, it just comes down to reviews. There are certain paints that are universally loved: VMC Dark Sea Blue, VMC Smoke, Tamiya Smoke, Citadel Snakebite Leather, Scalecolour Black metal, you get the point. If someone told me I could only use these if I paid more, I'd do it. But then again, I collect paint.

If I buy some MM videos, can I view them on my iPhone or iPad? Thanks

Im looking for good freehanding videos.

hmm, didn't you want to start a new thread for this?
Anyway:
- you should (I can watch them on my GalaxyS4, so iphone/ipad shouldn't be a problem. They are standard mp4 files
- MM doesn't have a lot on freehands. (Jen Haley's monochrome has some, Francesco Farabi's freehand is about it basically, but I wasn't big fan of his process, Matteo Murelli's Sven has some too aaand that's it)

I found the painting buddha video with Stephan Rath more useful for freehands.

Forgeworld paints are absolute no-go for me, unless someone reveal some magical supernatural effect and it better be a good one.
sadly up to the ears overpriced, but they probably will sell just because of the forgeworld brand.

Skel: you should read some of the topics on dakka/warseer.
people defending and worshipping everything gw. Like brainwashed zombies.
on dakka there is a mostly off topic pricing thread (apparently from Juni 1 the tools and paints will cost more), where they try to tell, that hobby is more than gw. So far 11 pages in and unsuccessful.

The only thing one could think is a positive about their paint line up, is if you ask them for legion painting guide they will list the colors used and steeps taken to achieve it. I ask about alpha legion, and the email me back saying what colors to use and what ratios to use them. I guess if you have mirror 100% what the legion looks like this set is for you.

I think peps that dont know any better will buy them, other than that curiosity for some. I wont be purchasing any more. Im beggining to feel I have more paint than I need now.
