The worth of the book will rather depend on how much the respective buyer gets out of it. From the looks of what is shown without being able to read any of the test then I would say possibly.

There was a sneak look at it over on Bell of Lost Souls last week which somebody had taken photos of at one of the US GD\'s it looks nice whether it is worth the £26 or not depends I guess but I will probably get a copy :D

Looks like its got some eye candy if your into 40k :D

I think I would get if I had £26 spare, if not just look on here for inspiration

I be leave a lot of this was done by Phil Stutcinskas who has won best of show at Euro more than once I think. Probably mone of the best military modelers in the world and he now works for Forge World.

I will buy this book asap and wish I was attending GD UK to purchase it there if its available..so the answer is..YES!!

http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=listarticles&secid=9

will give you far more information for free.

and whilst Phil Stutcinsakas work is fantastic (if he is the guy i think he is)
you won\'t be able to get results like he does from a gw book (better of buying a military modelling book, better bank for your buck)

While sites like Armorama are great..

Id reserve judgment on a book no ones really seen yet saying your not going to get anything from it because it\'s printed by GW.

lol.I have just ordered the FAQ on AFV from MIG, Andrea miniatures, but through Amazon not direct so saved £20.00.. But this one looks good too, but looks like they will aim it all using GW products only,, watching the space to see if I amwrong..

didn\'t say you wouldn\'t get anything from it.
just said you would be better of with a historical modelling book.

with a historical modelling/painting book you get far more information on a variety of techniques and products than what you get with gw painting/modelling books.

Oh I know what your saying, Im just saying being that its written by one of the worlds best Armor modelers Im hoping ( might make me stupid) that its written a little more in depth than prime, base coat, wash and highlight.. The fact that in some of the still shots Ive seen materials from Tamiya and MIG tells me that as FW useually does they have pushed the boundaries a little.

As soon as this books available, Ill be buying it..if its good you will all be the first to know..same goes if it sucks.

Sorry if I seem a bit testy this morning, if it had been a perfect world Id be somewhere in the UK right now ready to attend GD UK, but as Im still sitting here in my house is shitsville Ohio..well things didn\'t go as planned this year..Fucking economy... Ill get over it..

I saw a draft a few months ago and it does incorporate Armour techniques and products. I WILL be buying one. Well priced considering the out of date Tony Greenland AFV book is £20, as well as seing some good pics of 40k models.

Probably not.
Looks good but as I\'m more fantasy biased I doubt there\'s enough in it for me to justify the cost.
Now, if they were to do a fantasy one... :)

weathering techniques (oils, enamels and powders) work on standards figs as well as vehicles and can be used on fantasy as well mate.
it\'s where people have used these techniques for chipped and rusted armour as well as bases.

Aye, I know bud, I just doubt there\'ll be enough in there that\'s relevant to justify the cost. That might change once someone gets it and posts some feedback.

@ WG - Here\'s crossing my fingers...
