Forgeworld Stuff

Well it just arrived.
I\'m so amazed at the detail of this little Tech Priest guy, wow, I\'m almost afraid to touch it in fear of breaking something. It looks so fragile.
And then the feel of that resin, so rubberish, weird.
Two questions now: How do I paint the resin? Do I need a special primer and can I wash the fig before painting just like the metal ones?
Oh that was three questions and another to follow:
There seem to be small holes in the material, like broken bubbles. Can I repair the resin with greenstuff?

First wash him thoroughly and then prime as usual. The little bubbles can be filled with putty.

Wash, Dry, Fill, Prime and then Paint away to your hearts delight. It\'s no different than a standard pewter mini, EXCEPT that the detail is far clearer to work with.
Enjoy.

Rub a dub

Washing resin models in a mild detergent is even more important than washing metal minis because of the release agent they use in the casting process.

And I must get my hands on one of those FW Techpriests.....They are a million times better than the new metal Turdpriest they have released.

When you prime it, don\'t use GW primer. I bought the fantasy barn and the primer kept flaking off. Apparentely most model primers don\'t have the necessary solvent strength to adhere to resin properly.

I\'ve since got the Coaching Inn (very lovely it is too) and primed it with a matt black car primer and had no probs at all.

Enjoy

I\'ll try my Vallejo primer first before I go and spend 10 Euros on a new can of car primer, but thanks for the tip anyway.

<fangirlmode> And Finn(and everyone else as well for that matter), you really have to have that Techpriest, such lovely fine detail and not as blunt and graceless as the GW ones. A real beauty! </fangirlmode>

auto body primer...

Car body primer available at most auto repair stores is what you want to use. Most regular primers don\'t seem to have the same chemical make up and are not strong enough to bond with the mini correctly.

A note on washing the model, I have seen it suggested also to use a slight abrasive cleaner (for scrubbing floors)diluted in water first and then a more mild detergent.

For the price you have to pay for these little goodies, it is far better to be safe than sorry!

Mmmyes, indeed Finn.
But the problem is that those Forgeworld Techpriest minis are not the same thing as those new 40K Techmarines

Techpriests and Turdmarines
