Foundry miniatures

Hi all

I was about to order a pack of WWI figures from Foundry but almost fell over when I saw the postage... £7.00 for first class mail!! The order was only £8.00 :flame:

Does anyone know if you can buy Foundry stuff anywhere else in the UK that doesn\' have ridiculous postage costs?

Cheers!

Sorry, trying to be funny. I can\'t help you down here from Oz, but I know your pain. Foundry probably would have seen a few thousand dollars from me if it wasn\'t for their \"free postage\" postage costs on their deals (around 40%).

Good luck.

They are well known for this. They do offer free P&P on larger orders - can\'t recall the amount.

I know some people get together to take advantage of this. No good for me though. Too few friends. lol

They also used to have a special deal where you could make your first purchase post free if you bought on your first visit to only. Bit weird. Don\'t know if it still applies

The only other option is to look on Ebay.

I think they sell at shows.

And if there is another way I\'d like to know too.

Oh, and you could always ask who else does WWI minis. I\'d try Steve Dean\'s forum, or frothers if no-one here knows.

I think it\'s about £60 for free postage.... feck, I only wanted one pack for a diorama I have in mind, so I don\'t need hundreds of the little buggers... I could just stomach the postal cost... but I\'m not going to on principle... so I\'ll have to go without lol

Who thinks these postal strategies up eh?

This is what I was after if anyone happens to have it and want to sell :)

OK, this sort of thing really burns my balls. Foundry must mail out a lot of packages a day, there\'s no way packaging and sending that set would cost them SEVEN POUNDS (approx $12 USD). They\'re squeezing a whole extra set\'s cost out of people who only want to order a few minis. I think that is certainly questionable business but what is anyone going to do about it? Their products are still popular...

You have to remember who Foundry are Sooooooooo closely associated with!

(hint: Same town, same founders ;) )

I\'m going to Salute in April if you can wait until then I\'ll see one of the dealers there that have a great range of Foundry packs.

I could nip over to Nottingham and pick up the pack for you and post it to you if you like it is only a short way from me. Just yell if you want me to do this.

I got a few packs of Foundry stuff because they had a special \'no postage even on international orders\' deally.

I love their stuff.

Do these dealers NOT have online sales, or is that Foundry won\'t allow them to sell online?

Just wondered.

Hi Tim

That\'s a kind offer. But please don\'t make a trip to Nottingham just for these. If you happen to be in Nottingham though, I\'ll definitely take you up on that :D ... I actually live pretty close to Nottingham myself but rarely go there and wasn\'t planning on making a special trip :)

Yeah, the postage cost is ludicrous... having run GameMart for 3 years, I know exactly how much they should be charging and it\'s a fraction.

No problem I\'ll pick that pack up next time I am there, I shall be going over within the next week or two and I\'ll get it then.

Are they not doing a free postage on your first order deal at the moment?

What is it with cranking up postage to ridiculous levels? Is it supposed to make you buy more? Cretinous business practice if you ask me and it\'s put me off buying Foundry stuff even though their stuff is cool.

It is funny how Post Free in Foundry terms leads to a 40 pound price difference between ordering in the Uk and ordering to say Australia. Both are post free, both are in the same currency, so why the difference. Don\'t believe the Post Free on the web site. The prices differ depending on what country you tell the browser you are in. The sneaky %&^$$ still charge you postage and handling.
