Frankenstein\'s Monster by SJB

Hi guys, just finished my latest sculpt. I\'ve had the idea in my head for years now to do a small range of 54mm gothic horror pieces, mostly based on the classic icons though re-imagined in my own way. This one is the first, Frankenstein\'s Monster, a favourite subject of mine.

Bit annoying about the putty colours kind of messing with the visual flow (more explanation on the link) but I\'m very happy with the result.

Now that is a great looking mini, Steve! I must say that 54 mm is a size that suits your style and technique very well. I love this one, and I look forward to seeing what other horror pieces you might come up with.

OK I like this very much, there\'s a certain pathos to Frankenstien\'s Creature which this goes a long way towards.
Will you be doing an alternate to the hook hand?

Dracula, Hmmmn...Look forward to that one. I can see a friends Birthday present in that.

No, there\'s just the hook hand. I like the look of it, plus the terminal would need to be resculpted to accommodate.

Well, I\'ve a few ideas. I\'d like to do the Bride of Frankenstein, Van Helsing, the Wolfman, Brides of Dracula, The Mummy... I could probably think of more but don\'t want to get ahead of myself.

sweet a favourite of mine and I really look forward to bobbing some paint on him...
and I echo Anders statement that your style is fantastically suited to this scale...

would love to see how you do with a wolfman but draculas brides also appeal very much so.
how about a mad scientist with alternate fly head :drunk:

great stuff Steve.

He really has a ton of character... not the standard dumb looking Frankenstein, he is still dumb looking but with a ton of character :D

Great piece!

LOL, this is the guy who learned human speech in only a month, while hiding in a woodshed?

Judging his mind by his brutish appearance, are we? ;)

Awesome sculpt, no question. Maybe a little less of the \"suffering exile\" than I imagined (think DeNiro in Branagh\'s movie). Somehow, the hook and missing eye give me more of a Zombie Pirate Robot (Ninja?) vibe... I\'d either do something with the hand or the empty eye socket. But it\'s your vision, and a beautifully executed one for sure. Now I just need some spare cash :(

the minature itself looks like the creature at the cusp of the story to me, perhaps just after he\'d killed William

Awesome, love it.
One comment, the chest seems a bit odd, the sudden jump from breastbone to stomach, shouldn\'t it be gradual not a sudden jump?
Any which way, I want one, I\'d like to see the Mummy next.
