FREAK accents

Although I am Welsh born and bred, I have worked with that many different people in the UK over the years I am told I do not have an accent anymore and have been acused of being a Northerner as well as a Janer.

To me having reached the age of 16 when the Welsh rugby team were at their very best Max Boyce sums up the Welsh accent Rhonda Grey

Wales being a country on its own we have our own language and signs and we put these into English only to help the tourists when they come visiting :D

Ya\'ll have funny accents. Ya\'ll come on out to Oklahoma and here some real \'merican spoken - and maybe a bit of Comanche or Apache. I don\'t have much of a drawl left, just speak real slow. I say such words as ya\'ll, yep or yea, all (what you put in your pickup to keep the ingen lubed).

Larre, congrats on making the 1 k mark. Unfortunately, the key machine is crated and moved across town yesterday. Waiting on the network guy to show up and get our office talking to the world again. (or at least to the clients.)

:innocent: I don\'t have much of an SoCal accent, but I have heard my voice on tape and I sound like a guy sometimes, deep and husky at times. :eek::wow::plol

I have a mate from Calver in the Peak District who sounds just like this.

Although it isn\'t particularly broad it\'s the most disturbing use of a Derbyshire accent ever lol

Nah, doesn\'t sound like Chesterfield accent at all. I mean, he\'s clearly pronouncing all the syllables (sp?). It\'s nowt like thaccents round ere.

I didn\'t say it was a Chezzer accent and it isn\'t particularly thick but it is there. It\'s like he\'s exagerating his diction for the effect but the way he says some of the stuff there\'s a definate Peak influence there. Saladfingers is scary (shudder)

Ok, I grant you that there\'s a hint of it there. I\'ve seen some of the salad fingers stuff before. Definatley weird.

I don\'t have a broad accent, but my brother-in-law does. when he drove me to university he stayed and talked to my housemates for a few minutes. When he\'d gone they were like...???...What was he saying?

OK, the key machine emerged from its crate this morning. Spent the day wandering around Larre\'s head (freightening). Then crawled back into its crate for a while. Finally, it spit out a key - sideways.

lol Yup. That\'s about right. That or Katie Currick. My voice is a bit younger, tho. I\'m constantly being mistaken for a 20-ish girl. I have all these boys at work flirting with me on the phone who have heart attacks whenever I tell them I\'m old enought o be thier mother.
