Does anyone know if a free army builder program for 40k and fantasy? I think paying for such a program is bogus and I will not do it.

Just my opinion but if you think it is bogus to pay someone for their hard work then why don\'t you write your own quality program and distribute it for free?

Army builder is totally worth it for the sheer amount of time it saves. That and the fact you don\'t need to check rules; it tells you if your list is b0rked.

If you\'re playing Warmachine and Hordes then uses Armies of Immoren. It\'s totally free and totally rocks.

So why do you think that paying for someones programming time and effort is bogus?
Do you feel the same way about other items out there to purchase, for example a car, clothing or a new mini?

I have to say that your comment reads as extremely arrogant.

If moderators can express their honest opinions so should members of the site without repercussion. Since that is not the case I deleted what I said. :|~

Even though I personally will not buy software when I have the information I need available to me, I also wish that there was a free version of some software like army builder

Blah I will just stick with the excel spreadsheets I created for myself, they work perfect for me.

Let me put this completely in perspective for you.
This thread is the second one this week where the moderators have received compaints made about your comments.

The first in the Gen Con thread you seem to have either ignored or not read the response, which was put in place after discussion with the other moderators.
This one is in my opinion rather \"small fry\" but the complaint needed to be looked at never the less, and my comment was made accuratley.
I stated \"I have to say that your comment reads as extremely arrogant.\", because it does. Had I been the Author of the program I would have taken offense at the nature of the comment.

It also appears that you seem to have a problem with a challenge made to your comments or opinions. Let me make something clear, if you have an opinion, Fine, you are entiltled to it and can express it freely. But when you express it in a public forum don\'t be surprised if you have to defend it when challenged.

While I too found the comments offensive to some degree, I find it somewhat sad that people would complain to moderators about a post that did not contain a direct attack/hate mongering, swearing, or porn. Most of us do after all live in free countries where people are entitled to their opinions no matter how daft they in fact are.

Just my two cents, but then I\'m the guy who lets his 8 year old play WoW unsupervised. :drunk:

Ya I am not too sure why people would complain about me expressing an opinion about the value of a software program. There are programs out there for other game systems that are free and that is what I was looking for, and I found one.

Also in the gen con thread I expressed empathy for the company having to file chapter 11. I am not too sure why people would complain about that either. EDIT: I just reread what I wrote in the thread. After I posted my comment I never read the thread again so was unaware of the responses.

It is clear to me now that the best way to express my opnions on this forum is with complte ambiguity. That is fine.

Ever worked in \"Customer Relations\"? If you have then it should come as no surprize as what some people will complain about.
