WOW....If you guys don\'t like the gobbos, send \'em to me! I LOVE the little guys. They are small and cruel looking, not like the goofy multi-part ones. I love the fact that there are four different poses also. something that single piece models have lacked in the past. If you look closely at the boxed game pics you\'ll see that each regiment has different command models too! And as you can see above in the thread, they can be painted quite well.

as for GW bashing..

everybody wants to take down the top dog. I have been unhappy with GW in the past also but I think they are really trying to mend their ways with this boxed set...$45 for two armies!? And if you are like me you can get a buddy that likes Dwarves (for some reason) and trade up the others stuff, so you get one BIG army for $45! Yes, I know that these aren\'t nifty multi part Golden Demon entry highly convertable models, but they are FREE!!! I don\'t think this is GWs showcase of their plastic production abilities I think they did that with the new Cadians and the Giant. Wait til you see the plastic Dragon coming....WoooHooo! Still, overall I would much rather be playing the vast wonderful world of Warhammer(& 40K) than trying to wrap my mind around steam powered robots or silly Frenchy-Bizzarro minis.

I was pretty disapponited with the quality of the dwarf, especially as the guy at my local GW store had been going on about how exciting the box set will be with all these excellent minis. I\'ve started painting the Goblin (had 20 minutes spare while the baby was asleep) and he doesn\'t seem too bad but the dwarf offers no inspiration at all.

I still find myself reminiscing about the days when GW/Citadel produced minis for more than just piling together into regiments. I\'ve still got lots of characterful old stuff they did for use with RPGs and really regret selling some of it when I was young and foolish (especially my ogre bandit - the best mini I ever owned).

GW - could and should do better.

Same exact thing happened to me. The mag was in sorry shape as well. I wonder why only the Dwarf fell off both times? Anyway I got my replacement mag in the mail yesterday. They sent it in a padded envelope with 2 more minis! GW has always impressed me with their customer service.

As for those psycho-styrene dudes; forget it. I want those plastic Cybermen and Daleks! I had no idea those were ever made. I had some of the old FASA lead Dr. Who minis which bent and broke really well.

Maybe we could use the dwarf for a special CMON painting competition. After all its easy to paint a good mini well (unless you\'re me), this should provide a bit more of a challenge. If Howard Moon\'s night goblin is anything to go by we could get some surprisingly good results.

Looking at these and the ones shoved out in the WD I guess they haven\'t really come that far since 1992.

The goblins of 92 are on a par with the new one/free one.

I have a box of skull pass on advance order OK some of the Dwarves are crap but when you look at it not all the regiments in skull pass are the same as these...the dwarves have different poses and you get the goblin spider riders.

Then again I might be completely out of my tree or :drunk: and they will all be crap

i got that dwarf on my shelf half undr coated becouse cant get it of tryed with paint removal spirit and got half of mine is also missing sheild

I\'m the sort of guy who\'s easily pleased, so I wouldn\'t mind free models. I need a bit of variety, having never painted either a dwarf or a goblin, although I am starting on an orc when it comes when I did a direct order on wednesday.
