should say im a slow painter and even slower at the mo as im looking after my mother who,s just had her knee replaced.
took 2.5 hrs to do 1 highlight the other day.so it may take a while.the idea with him is that he sits on his throne with orky gout mostley decrepid and past his prime.only rousing from his sleep to keep an eye over his teef piles wich the gretch has been swiping n today got rumbled!!gana play around with pigments to make him old n dusty and would also like to get some cobwebbs on his hat but no clue as to how to atcieve that 1?

An awesome sculpt .... any sort of sculpting medium is a mystery to me, I can turn green stuff into \"brown stuff\" at will. And I second (or thirds?) the call for some form of wooden base .....

looks smooth mate, nice work.
if your after a general material then i would be tempted to darken the darkest shadows (it needs that extra work to make it pop)
if your after a velvet effect then bring out the highlights a lot more.

i was thinking of it as a old leather coat tbh worn a toutch dull.i had the deeper parts much darker at 1st allmost pure black but felt it may give too much pop lol so toned it down at this point i think il wait till ive got some more work done b4 i see wich option will work better.im an old school type painter so im trying not use too much off a full on contrast and see how it goe,s

I like the \"Powdered\" look for the face, but I worry that some may not get it immediately visually. Maybe if the powder was applied less than perfect with some of the green-ness showing through? Or maybe really overdo the pink on the cheeks so everyone see\'s it immediately?

the coat was based with black n red gore mix about 40/60 mix then highlighted with red gore untill the mix was allmost pure rg then i used warlock purple and then bleached bone.the skin was a mix of scorched brown and catachan green about 40/60 mix highlighted with goblin green then bone.the face was based with the final highlight from the hand highlighted with bone then white upto allmost pure white @scott im happy the face but see ur point but i think even if it had a neon sign pointing some ppl wouldnt get it lol

Oh, the face is tops! I love it, but the problem for me is that the color of the hand draw my eye first. When i first looked I thought the face was still primered by comparison.

Please note that I am a huge fan of this model, I just want to give you as much feedback as possible. Are you going to take this to games day? I am really, really keen to see how this does. It\'s such an awesome spin on the 40k orc fluff, I absolutely love it and am sure the judges would too!

Its a great sculpt full of character.
I do think some of it could of benefited from sharpening up but its a bit late now.
I really like the powdered face effect, its has a real dandy look to it, maybe a touch of the darker skin around the edges though would help enforce the look of makeup.

Overall it still gets a BRILLIANT from me.

Nice work!

Hey man that\'s looking really c00l! That red hue and the nice choice of blue matches perfectly. And your painting is really clean. I can imagine that you\'re enjoying painting this guy as the Freebooter Orks are some of the c00lest looking Orks out there!

>edit< Ooohh. I see that this is one of your own sculpts. Superb work!
