This is my second freebooter mini, Spent a lot of time doing the face, good that the cast itself already have a lot of detail, so painting it is fun and easier, I got lucky with the eye and now it has a bit of an anime look to it. can't glue the other arm in until after I did most of the body.

Finally got used to using very thin paint, like adding a bit of water to GW paint, easier to handle but need to wait longer until applying more layers to it, easier we blending (still learning on how to do this...)

NEW UPDATES (with a couple of Wyrd)

paintings not my expert subject however the eye looks a little too large i would maybe paint a little bit more skin over the bottom pushing the eye up perspective wise. eyes are a serious pain in the bum(i can never do em myself) the slightest little thing can throw them off completely, keep the progress coming

thanks for the comment...

actually I am thinking about that too, but now it looks a but anime like... I am thinking of re-doing it again, and yes, the girl is meant to be looking up, not straight, so yea... sigh, serious pain in doing eyes.

serious pain in doing eyes.
It looks as if you've made a simple mistake a lot of new painters do, you painted the eye after the face.
Do the eye first and then the skin tones.

Also remember that these mini's are roughly 1/65 the size of an avaerage human, so contrast has to be increased to make the face look somewhere near believeable.
Increase the shadow tones around the area connecting to the hair. Add a tiny touch of purple to your skin tone for shadows and, if you can get hold of it, Vallejo Model Colour Ivory as your highlight colour, much better than white.

Remember that faces aren't smooth and bland they do have curves, indents and prominences which make us all individuals. Simply by adding touches of tone each face gains more character.

I did... I done the eye but over did that dot... so it became a huge drop, but it sort looks like the anime style so I didn't bear to clean it... I show this to a lot of ppl and everyone said the eye is out of wack...
One question re your comment on the hair line, yes i think I need to work on that too, do you think i should do the hair/face boarder first, then the face? I got shaky hands ....

so it should go:
white prime, blue dot eye, white to cover the top and bottom bit, then lip, lip line, lip highlight, hair, face, extereme-carefull wash?

re the face, would you recommend sanding it so the face is smoother? I am so ready to just wash it all and paint it again =.= I do like the lip...
