Frost\'s tasty WIP-ed goodness

Hey guys, new poster here at CMON, but I wanted to see what you thought of the couple of grav tanks that I am working on currently.

I started the freehand stuff first after priming em black:

I wanted to work out the black first, in a matt parkes style (I wish):

The rest of my Eldar army is in my gallery, so you can see where this scheme is going.

Any input is very much appreciated.

I like the freehand a lot!!! I have only one suggestion and it is to clean up the transitions on the black, they look too rough. It is basically one of the disadvantages of large flat areas when highlighting, you have to be on top of it or it will ruin itself very easily. I feel your pain though since I am painting a full Ravenwing Army right now ( way too much black!!!) and it is driving me nuts!!!!lollollol Have at it...

I really like the blending on the blue,

I would try to blend in the highlights on the black a little more, but thats just an opinion,

I love the way this is coming along!
Its a lot like my work in the respect it looks dire to begin with until you see it emerge like this.
The freehand patterning\'s great, love it. The turquoise and blacks a good combo too! No suggestions on the black really, I tend to use blues in my blacks to give it smoother transitions though.
Looking forward to seeing more of these :)

This is brilliant! The markings are soo clean and sharp! Great job on the pilot and jem. I\'d like to see how it finishes.

I really enjoy the effect you managed on the crystal. Very well done. Overall I think that the entire project is very impressive and well executed.

Thanks for the crits everyone...the grav tanks arent FINISHED per se, but they are close enough to move onto the next thing and tweak them later.

Im not 100% happy with the gems or the prism, for example. Hrm.

Anyways, here is the \"next thing\" ;)

Welcome to the forum :) Really do like the grav tank! Farseer coming up great, and I like to see how people work up from white primer (been doing black mainly black myself). Do want more!

Love the Grav Tanks.

As for the Crystal, why not try adding a couple of red washes to them, it\'ll retain the effect you\'ve created but will blend them in and give them more depth. Like they are further inside the crystal.
