Fujifilm S 5500 FinePix - Problem

as the title says, Im having a great deal of trouble with my Fujifilm S 5500 FinePix and trying to get it to pick up the smallest of details on my Minis rather than a blur, is there a way to achieve best quality or tricks and tips to using this camera?

are you set in macro mode?

there should be a flower icon on the screen.

none of the settings brng up a flower icon,
icons on the circular dial are

M
A
S
P
auto
a head
a landscape
a sport mode
night mode?
Filming.


on the opposite side of the camera there is an AF/MF lock toggle and button.
