Here is my latest off the table. The gem technique, snow base, and weathering on the cloak were all first time attempts. I hope you enjoy him! Comments and critiques wanted. :)

Nice work. I think you need to take the contrast up a level. Gems look great as does the snow. Did the vote thing.

Looks great, making the transitions on gems smoother is a matter of experience, for the first time, this is awesome work! When you do gems, try to mix the colours in as small layers as possible, and water them down, to give a smooth transition in colours.

Your snow looks great! Do tell how you did that ? :D

Thank you for the critiques, Dark Seraphim and Ogrebane. I really appreciate it.

The snow is a combination of white glue, water, baking soda, and GW modeling snow. I mix the water and white glue roughly one to one. Then I added the baking soda and modeling snow in about one to one proportions. I tried to get the consistency of a thick slush. Initially, it looked more \"icey\", but as the water evaporated, it gave the snow more of a powder look.

except for the modeling snow I just use the other ingredients. I found that mixing a bit of water and baking soda 1/1 first is best, then letting the baking soda set (stop bubbling) and then add glue, about 3/1 will give a great mix.

The snow get\'s a glinzing effect that I like very much.

Most welcome btw :)

No critic from me, just praise. You really do improve on each mini you finish, and that is an ever more challenging prospect.

Very nicely done, the face and beard are excellent.

Really nice. ive never tried a snow base and always think they look good. The metals are also nice. I should tell you though that the gem doesnt convince me..looks a little stripey. Try more layers/transitions.
