A few good things going on at Bolton:
We have a 14 year old girl who paints that we\'ve(*) managed to confince that if you say the word \"Gullible\" really fast it comes out as Ba-Nah-na.
She\'s also been made to believe that Royal Marines during the Falklands Conflict had surgical adaptations to give them webbed feet in order to Swim ashore, and as My mate Paul is an ex-Bootie he helped wind her up on that one.
She also once tried to give me \"Up & Down Banks\" for taking the rip out of the Geordie accent. Took a long time (& Fran) to convince her that I was actually born in Newcastle.

On Saturday I really conned a young kid about Eldar, Telling him that the Eldar tanks would be getting some new Sprue additions including the new Eldar Tank Farseer \"Hin\'teer Rior De\'Koh Raita\"

There is of course the \"Village Idiot\" who instisted in standing behind my mate Paul while we were in the middle of a game and telling him he was playing his own Army Wrong. Paul, getting very annoyed, turns around and says very loudly....\"You\'re a Virgin aren\'t you?\"
Guy goes very red and runs out of Shop, He\'s in his 30\'s.

I popped into GW this week & got treated to the new guy \'practising\' on me. <sigh> the manager, a friend of mine, wound him up by saying \'Go & talk to him, but be nice he\'s one of my best customers.\' The fact that I go in there to paint my rackham or oop grenadier figures, always spouting about how I can get these figures cheaper on ebay is totally irrelevant. I felt for the guy, particularly when I asked to see a Gnome

The staff at the GW shops I\'ve been to was always quite curteous and intelligent (well, they did give some really stupid tactical tips concerning Dark Eldar, but what do you expect, I\'m the only one who plays this army ) but there was this one customer who kept following me... I got in the store and looked at some minis when this guy crabwalks up to me. No teeth, never had a bath in his life, an estimated 25 years old. If he was not a virgin then my condolences go out to whatever allowed him some touchy.
Well, he comes up to me and starts spouting CRAP without even making his presence known beforehand (probably thought his stench would be enough - and it was). The ideas he had for dioramas (they were all crappy juvenile humour, so juvenile that even I am above that... \"So I\'ll take a sister of battle, you know, and a slaanesh chaos marine, and she has really big boobs and I\'ll give him a large, big...\" *switch off ears*
I could not have a second without his drivel in my private space and asking him to leave did not work at all. He didn\'t even acknowledge that I said something.
Think this is bad? It gets worse: He even followed me out of the store and kept yammering on. I finally calmly told him where the police would find his body after he sat down at my table when I was trying to get some dinner in a fast food restaurant.

He left, but his smell lingered on, reminding me of the good times we had together.

Yes, a staffer said this to me, and then said any character I want, they can usually find a character for it without needing to mod/resculpt any.

I then mentioned my party, and they said ok that we can\'t do, but standard characters they can do

One thing I do appriciate at Bolton is that there are a couple of lads with Learning Difficulties who are made very welcome, both by the staff and the regulars.

hm well, I really think my lokal GW strore (Berlin I) is very nice, the staff likes me although I don´t buy that much (I do go there for gaming though). They usually don´t try to sell me random stuff, and if I tell them I liked the old metal version of this and that they take out the collector compendum and let me have a look.
Strange talk i usually hear from customers - i remember one incident though when i was sitting there painting and overheared one staffer discuss Yu-Gi-Oh taxctics with some small boy - oh I really had to force myself not to laugh...

Well, this one time this guy around my age and about twice as big as me and some little ankle biter were playing 40k. The kid accidently knocked over the big guys Nightbringer and the head broke off at the seem. I understand how it would be annoying, but (as it was not a display peice) a little superglue and a quick touch up of the chipped paint was all it needed to be good as new. However, the guy just flipped out and started screaming. He was yelling things like how he hated the kid and how he never wanted to play with him again. Towards the end of his tantrum he was literally sobbing and stamping his feet. The staff had to fix the model for him just to calm him down.
I had only just recetly gotten into the hobby, but I seriously considered quitting after that.

Remembered a battle between me and my brother where he was nearly in tears.

He was 10 at the time.

And he did charge most of his tyranid army into a large box formation in the cross fire between the two vindicators I was fielding at the time.

Although not on the same level, I had a similar moment once.

My brother managed to destroy my shelf with about 7 years worth of large scale war ships on, completely mangling about 20 ships in the process.

I dont think I cried, but I definatly said some strong words.

Ooh, not good, Ben. There have been a few mishaps at the gaming club I go to. Like, oops, there goes a carnifex all to pieces. Some guys don\'t let the kids get their snack food stained hands on the minis.

Things like that really suck - I feel your pain. My mother (meaning well, but not thinking ll that well) gave some of my minis to our neighbours\' children so they could play with them.
Of course I was not present at that time.
Long story short, I threw away all those minis. Not salvagable at all.

Yeah, theres not a lot you can do about that really aye, its either, game in stores, and kind of take your chances with things, or play at home, and only with people you know arent going to drop things.

A friend rang me tonight to complain he had finished painting 12 sentinals, and his two year old just got her hands on them.
