Having only quite recently discovered cmon, i was REALLY exited about being able to paint some figs. and then getting some feedback from you guys..... then the mango hit the fan! I was hit with a massive tax bill, my car first died (£300 bill) then some lowlife broke into it twice in a month (goodbye £400 sound equipment), my insurance then starts messing me about, i then lost some very expensive tropical fish due to disease, and to top it all of, the vet tells me that my jack russell puppy needs to see a dog psychiatrist..... What!?! A dog what!?! All this in two months, brilliant. I now have the worst painters block in history! I might go find a corner to cry in now.

Man I had a year like that. Hopefully thats the last of your bad luck and good luck will ensue. I would go buy a lotto ticket if I was you. maybe you should just paint everything in grey scale till the mood passes.

Hope things get better for you. Cheers

That about sums up a 2 month period in any part of my life. I channel my frustrations into painting. Most of it ends up junk or not finished because I get over what ever it is that was bothering me but it really helps.

Sorry to hear all this. Just remember it gets better.

Hey spring, head over the Freak bar and have one on me. The year I got divorced was a year like that. So was the year my mother passed. Things come and go, and all you can do sometimes is move forward. On the bright side, it can only get better!

Yep. Sh*t happens and all you can do sometimes is pick up the shovel and start digging.

Remember two things;
1 Things will get better.
2 You have us to talk to.

Your not alone, the last 3 years have been rough here with things just starting to turn around now. In April \'05 I was jumped by 8 guys and nearly killed which left me unable to work for a couple months, since I was self employed that caused me to go bankrupt by June that year and thus lose my business. Started it up again but never quite the same. That Christmas my truck was broken into and they stole $1000 in gear while doing almost $3000 in damage to the truck (actually Christmas day... The bastards). Ended up voluntarily closing down the business for good last year because I couldn\'t quite get it back to normal. Wifie is just about ready to divorce me because the renovations I started on the house still arn\'t done after over 2 years, primarily because I ran out of money from the failure of the business (major renovations and problems resulting from the incomplete work)...

On the plus side for me, this January I woke up one day with the sudden feeling that 2008 will be \'our\' year and mostly good things will happen. While no major improvements yet, and my father-in-law died in February, there is a bright spot in the not to distant future most of it dependent on me getting a job I\'m currently in round 4 of interviews for.

There, I told you this little story because when I was younger I knew a fellow we called \"Dave the Miserable Bastard\" and any time you were feeling low you would talk to him and he would have the most miserable stories about himself that would always make your problems pale by comparison and you would feel better afterwards. Helps that nobody liked \'Dave\' so you didn\'t have to walk away feeling bad for him.

Anyway, the point of my story is, things get better, they always do. Just takes a while sometimes. :drunk:

PS: Full story of misery here.

@MPJ, wow, i\'ll stop complaining now! Really hope you get that job. Just to add, the reason for the vet recomending we get professional help for my dog, is that last month we had him castrated, and an hour after the op. he started freeing himself from his cage wilst barking and howling so loudly, that people walking past the vets, were going in and asking wether everything was oklol, my wife recieved a call begging her to go and fetch him! Yep thats my rotweiller chasing boy!

Okay, now, this is going to sound weird, but follow me for a bit.

The worst month I\'ve ever had was when our dogs fought each other ($1000+ vet bills), then my car needed major repairs ($1000 repairs on a $1500 car (yeah, I know, but I like it)), then the little baby girl decides she\'s going to eat double the amount of formula (and thus double the amount of diapers). I wound up having to move all of that over to a credit card with good terms for six months in order to not run out of money.

Wost month of my life, but not nearly as bad as other peoples. Now, stay with me a bit more.

My life is pretty charmed. Typically, I can pour all the milk out of the carton into a glass and have just enough for a full glass. I trip on the sidewalk and spot $20 under a bush. Very good karma things. Its been this way for a long time, and I get scared a bit every time it happens and I notice.

Now, yesterday, driving to shopping, my wife the Japanese Buddhist spots a dead squirrel in the road. And she states that she\'d always been told that you shouldn\'t feel bad for the dead animal or else that animal\'s soul will attach itself to you and follow you around. Now, I\'m the kind of person who as a child wouldn\'t throw away a toy that broke because it had been a good toy and deserved a nice retirement. Drove my parents nuts. Thus, I\'ve mourned about every fuzzy flat spot on the road for over thirty years.

And that\'s when it hits me: I\'ve got a spirit shield of fuzzy animals! Every bad karma arrow that gets shot towards me gets taken down by some anonymous flat mammal!

:beer::beer::beer:So thanks Anonymous Possible-Squirrel #5237! Yesterday was nice!:beer::beer::beer:

Hopefully, if your life doesn\'t improve by sympathizing for 2D animals, maybe my story made you chuckle. Have a better day!

Bah, don\'t stop complaining, just start feeling better. :drunk:

While my German Shepard is a bit daft noone has suggested a dog mental doc (can\'t spell psychiac... well you know), I did have a cat that was so vicisous the vet wanted me to put it on kitty prozac.

lol, thanks pegazus, that was brilliant! Made me feel so good, i had THREE slices of pizza for lunch (take THAT diet!) I should have known Milo was gonna be trouble, i bought him when he was about 7 weeks old, and the first thing he did, was to first growl at me and then he bit me on the toe! Afterwards he ran and hid behind his mum and growled at me some more.... Why i chose him over his brothers and sisters i will never knowlol

That\'s the thing about animals, they will surprise you. Today you are wondering whether you picked the right one, tomorrow, you will wonder how you couldn\'t have picked him.

Also - Milo? Reference to the Mask by any chance?

Because pets with a attitude make great pets (once they get to know you). As for the rest.
One: Cars, well atleast here) are pretty cheap and some of the sales guys will bend over backwards to get and into a new one.
Two: Only a really stupid person would burgal <sp?> the same place a third time, right. Just remember to cut the boxes up small and hide them in the can, let\'s not give them folks any stupid ideas.
Three: Unless the stuff they stoled was some sort of keep sake, it\'s only stuff. You can all ways buy more, this time newer, bigger, and better right?
Four: Crazied hounds are scarrier then bigger dogs IMHO, remember the saying \"It\'s not the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog.\" Maybe he\'s just practicing for the next round. May I recomend \"The Dog Wispherer\" on, well here in the states it\'s National Geographic, or Discovery channel, or TLC? One of those channels (brain fart, sorry). One can pick up alot of tips and tricks on doggie behavoir that come in handy.
Well, Good Luck. And remember we\'re all in this together.

When I was about 8 or 9 me and my brother had 2 lovely big white rabbits only problem was I think they came from Transylvania as they had a test for blood.Feeding them carrots you had to count your fingers after feeding had to make sure you weren\'t missing a digit.Even came home one day from school to see both take chunks out of a cat that though it could have some fun with them.
Poor little cat went from being top of the food chain to lower than a lettuce.

Yea, he does remind me of the movie dog after he put the mask on!lol, but i would want any other dog in the world, i would be bored stiff without him about! Hd makes life \"interesting\", especially when he takes a run-up, jumps and lands on the dining table, sending mini\'s and paint flying in all directions! He then gives me those big puppy-dog eyes when i tell him off. Thanks for all your kind words guys!:drunk:

Hey, you fix an animal you get what you deserve! I know it needs to be done but it\'s just CRUEL!!!

By the way, I thought there was no tax returns in the UK? Someone told me one time that everyone gets some sort of employment number and the employers use that as a reference to deduct the correct amount of tax from your pay cheques. Since I work for the Canada Revenue Agency I\'ve been thinking that is absoloutely freakin\' brilliant.

It does work like for your income tax, but i was refering to the council tax, it is levied according to where you live and on services you recieve, you get a sent a payment demand every year and you can pay it all at once or in installments. It really hurts opening that envelope every year!
