The reason Alexi Z was banned was afaik because the overall winner also get a trip to GDUK. So they didn\'t want the same person to go twice.. but from what I heard (on these forums btw) also is that she got the trip eventually anyway. Is that correct, Natalya?

I also think that it should be in UK like it\'s in the french GD (if I remember correctly) the slayerswordwinner can\'t enter next year and instead get to be one of the judges. A temp. pause could be a good idea, a perminant ban is not.

I can\'t wait to see the PP competition at GenCon, we already know that Jeremie
Bonamant is going to be there, and hopefully Natalya, and if Jen returns to defend her win. I just hope that some of these others offer to teach classes at GC as well. Now, if we can just get Victor and Bobby and Vincent and Lilianna and Cyril and Kirill and Alphonso and a few others ( sorry for not using all the names, you know who you are ), we can see who is the uber painter of 2007.

Well i don\'t enter at golden demons and such (I\'m only 16 and i don\'t think my level of painting is good enough... yet ). But i really like local comps, and I\'ve won every comp i entered (well apart from the first one, where i became third.)

But then they said: \"you can only win 5 times, to give other people a chance of winning\"

Well i find this absolute crap, why should i be banned, just because i spent more hours painting/converting. And really try to push my limits? While other people make their entry the night before the comp...Or enter stuff they already had painted for their army.

OK it\'s not nice to see someone win every time, but i would use something like that as a motivation instead of demotivating. Just try to beat the bastard .

But now they have a new manager, and he said that i just can enter, because painting comps are such a good motivation. Which is so true.

As each person is filling out his entry form, have someone mention that Jen Haley is entering a mini. If they whine about it, they are automatically put into the \"big, whiny baby\" category.

I think its ridiculous to ban people just because they are too \'good\'.
If it really had to come to that, the least they could do is give those people a huge f-off trophy saying that they are too good for -insert competition here-

No, that would be what you win when you are actually permitted to enter. Or are you suggesting that anyone who wins the sword shouldn\'t be able to enter again?

I\'m talking a huge trophy that signifies the end of your ability to enter that specific contest. Hell if you are gonna deny someone the thrill of entering because they are \'too good\', at least give them something to signify that... then they\'d have something to show off.

That is exactly what I am suggesting, at least for the GD. As I stated before, back in the day I believe that you could only enter the Open category after winning the sword.

I feel there is a time to acknowledge the fact that you are the best and move over to let someone else have a go. Seeing someone travel to several GD\'s to win several Slayer Swords and innumerable Golden Demons is a tad excessive. Hell, I see it as bad sportsmanship. It is gluttony for attention. I\'m sure these are the same people complaining about sniping and their scores all the time. We\'re here to have fun and enjoy something! Lighten up!

There is honor in realizing that you are the best and politely retiring your \"sword.\" (Tee hee.) I\'m not saying quit painting, but really, painting isn\'t a competition. It is always nice to show off something you worked hard on and get good feed back. It is great to win something tangible for your hard efforts. Sometimes people take advantage of stuff like that, though.

Banning people because of prior achievments in other comps isn\'t cool though. Let them have at least one go before they mop the floor with the rest of us!

Like I said before, I don\'t mean to step on peoples toes. I won\'t be entering any competitions anytime soon. Not my thing. I just wish people would be a little more fair. I\'m not a competitive person, though. I know I\'m the man. I don\'t need an award to tell me that.

But we talking about painting competition and award for being one of the best in our hobby is pretty good. And I want enter to this competition every year just because I want to know \"Am I still one of the best or not?\". And yes, this is sport for me.

Totally in agreement with Natalya and Peter here.

If you stop people from entering because they win things, you eventually diminish the value of the awards.......

If you feel threatened because there are top quality painters COMPETING against one another and yourself........GET BETTER!

If someone wants to travel the world, picking up awards, so what....it\'s a free world! Well, maybe not, but try to improve so you can beat them!

We all know the GDs are flawed as a competition. They should at least be consistent in their rules from country to country so everyone starts at a level playing field. The organisers might earn respect then

Last year it seemed like everybody had that great idea.. I think dual is probably this years joker in the deck.
