it was meant as a joke lol, im not physically handicapped, just mentally. I would be honoured if you posted some pics of your orc on this forum id like to see it.

Heres some shots of the back (even though i said i prolyl wouldnt post any of them) and what is supposed a close up to show the gun. On all the other pics the back was not touched so it kinda looked like I had more done than actually was. I need to trim up the little design on ther shuriken catipult it looks a kinda mishapen IMO. Thats the good thing about taking pics it shows flaws that u otherwise would not see.

hey flunk! my suggestion is NOT to make a squad :D ive done one now and i can tell you im never going to make another one, it really takes the fun out of it! anger, despair and anguish! LOL

your eldar are turning out pretty good :) i still wish for some better photos though, i know how hard that can be.

i'd be agreeing with skelly, those pictures don't portray the mini properly (i feel). i'd like to see it in some more light. and what are you going to do about his mohawky thing? i don't think it sates my eyes as it is; i think it needs some sort of contrasting colour.

@ crazy i checked him out and ya i see what u mean about our styles. hes obviously better, id say im like a poor man's tim holly :) but how he does those sorta randomized, painterly brush strokes brush strokes (van gogh comes to my mind) all around the model is similar to how i paint. damn man your like a walking encyclopedia when it comes to the golden demon!

@ skelly, i cant imagine the work your putting into that squad, its going to be epic once its done, but for me; painting 4 more of these which are almost the identical model ewwwwwwww. Im thinking of just throwing him in duel actually, hes got a duelish pose to him, I might put him up against a Nid or Dark Eldar. Ill just slap him on a bigger base going at it with another model. I was not looking forward to doing a squad at to be honest, and this hobby is all about fun so why put myself through such misery. How is your squad going by the way?

@ lyuun, the mohawk isnt painted yet at the back, but I planned on having it a muted blue, a bit less bright then the loin cloth. If u have a suggestion for a colour I might be inclined to change it. I painted a avenger before and I found that by painting the mohawk too bright or too colourful brought alot of emphasis on the hair rather than the face. so Im avoiding paitning it anything too elaborate.

yeah i hear ya, at least the ork have some variation, to paint 5+ of exactly the same model must be even more a total nightmare. my squad is more or less finished, just waiting for the last ingredient (water effect) to arrive so i can finish it off (and hopefully not ruin it in the process...) havent seen all the orks at the finished base yet, still waiting for my big moment :D feel a little low cause im not going to be able to go to GDUK this year, right now im trying to convince some friends of mine to travel with me to spain instead. lets see how it turns out...

...but dont you sort of live at the other side of the planet? im starting to get used to disapointing GD project anyway, last year i painted a warboss in ages (not yet in my gallery) which didnt make it either. bah! he is now into shame-mode in a cabinet somewhere :D

well, water effect have arrived now at least, so hopefully i can finish the orky project soon!

It looks great! I especially like the freehand on the cloth on the right arm, it helps distinguish the cloth from the armour and looks good. The silver blade is a nice contrast to the armour too. The armour is great and a refreshing change from the normal squeeky clean eldar paint jobs. The weak points in the model (there always have to be some, luckily these ones are minor) are the crest on the helmet and the grip on the spear. Both could use a little more attention but I don't have any particular suggestions for how to improve them, I'll let some of the better painters on the site do that.

Overall, awesome job, the re-posing is seamless and if you hadn't said anything I would have thought you bought the model that way. I think this one will do just fine in the single mini category but a squad of them would be insane if you could pull this off 4 more times!

thanks guys! carl i agree about the staff handel i will have to add another darker shade to that to add some more depth, and opposite that is the crest, that should go a few shades brighter, your full of good ideas, thanks for the comments too! when your working on a model for so long you can overlook some obvious flaws.

first off Great mini. you want to enter for Golden demon and win something so now we have to get really picky. just my thoughts no need to change anything if you don't like it, just ideas.
disclaimer complete

so looks like you painted one of the gems and then left the rest if you painted some of the other ones it may add intrest. But may detract from the dirty look you are trying to achieve.
There is no realy focal point on the mini everything is almost the same value. Take a black and white picture and see what is the brightest part. Generally you would want to direct the viewers eyes to the minis face. (don't judge by my models I haven't been doing it either...yet...) If you brighten the face a bit with some highlights that should help.

the reflections on the spear haft look odd. take a piece of brass rod and hold it next to the mini and copy the reflection.
i don't really like the green squiggle on the blade but i like the gem that color.
the handle on the blade could use more shadow underneath and lighter on top to make it look more rounded.

lots of good things to but you are in clean up/perfection mode now

really like the freehand on the shash on his arm

Its been a long time coming but im almost finished! Im just waiting on a proper slotted base to be made so I can toss the full squad in my gallery. I wanted to do more than 5 but just getting that many done almost drove me fuckin crazy. Feedback will be much appreciated as always.
