Game Color

how good is game color to citadel, and model color, what are its advantages and disadvantages. I have heard that it is for fantasy and that there is the equivalency chart for game color and citadel. Does it apply good, etc.

I\'ve not heard of the line you\'re talking about. Personally, I can only suggest trying it and seeing how it goes for you.

I think hes talking about Vallejo game color and Vallejo model color. They are the same quality paint just that game color is like the GW equivalent. The model color have more variations and shades.

It is my prefered paint range, and yes it is far better than GW.

For me I prefer GW paints and I think my post and the one by TiberiusZ says it all. Some love one over the other some use both.

I would definately try some from ranges you have not used as they may suit your painting style better.

Vallejo Model and game colour aren\'t the same.. just the same brand. Game colour is more diluted and contain less pigments/quantity of paint. BUT it is also more resilient to damage so it is more suited for gaming purposes.

didn\'t know that! the vallejo paints also come in little dropper bottles which i used to hate but have now come to love. never had any trouble trying to get the lids off them!! personally i use mostly vallejos. the model colour set i have doesnt have many skin tones so i use game colour for those. i personally prefer the quality of the vallejos but i do use an old citadel mithril silver which is really shiney!

Some of the game colours change colour hue when you thin them due to the weaker pigment (I think that\'s why, at least), whereas model colours generally don\'t have this problem. However, I prefer VGC Black and White since they are thinner and easier to handle than the VMC ones.

That\'s likely due to the type of pigment used - you\'re seeing the difference between what is called masstone and undercolour. Almost any paint range will have one or two colours that will show this to varying degrees.
