After a presumably hard bossfight, our heroine is striking a pose...

Hi Y'all

Back in full-throttle mode, I have been hard at work painting and learning and learning and painting, and here is the latest installment in my collection of pretty objects.
I honestly think it is my best and a milestone in my progression, feels like that at least, hopefully my combined prescriptions of Contrasten extra-strenght and fast acting wet-blendix are taking effect.

Hope you like her, feedback is the name of the game and votes are still cool too.
Cheers and happy painting.

Looks good. I think your prescriptions working fine, at least. Contrast is there, base is well done and inventive. There is just something that is hard for me to put my finger on. Maybe it's the photography, but it appears a bit...muddied, for lack of a better term. It lacks a cleanness. This is my gut reaction, anyway. I had trouble until looking at the back photo noticing that she was wearing pants, for instance. Still, well done.

Thanks guys glad you like it.
I had the same comments on cleanliness and I am working on figuring out what went wrong, the pics are very honest, I always have that 'messy' touch that's my personality coming out in my paintings lol .
But that's messier than I'd like, maybe I just need to clean my room.

Yeah I really can't say how to fix. Or frankly, that it even needs fixing. It is a style in some ways. Like the difference between SkelletettS and Sprocket. The former being the messier. But I think messy isn't even the correct word. Some artists make it a point to do strong edge highlighting and black lining and really accentuate edges, corners, and shapes. This is "clean" IMO. Others don't rely on these same techniques, and often mix dirtier colors and use other techniques. In fact, I think it can have a lot to do with the temperature of colors. Anyway, hope this is somewhat helpful.

Yep that's what I think about much of this, no doubt the clean&shiny squad has a place in mini and deserves respect, but the field is so much wider now with influences from all getting mixed together. This is a playground for which I see no end.
That being said in all honesty I feel I have been hiding a lot of technical shortcomings behind my grits and that will no longer stand if I want to get my minis to the next level, albeit in the same style.
